Can Cuban citizens get hired to work onboard he cruise ships?

Will/can the cruise lines hire Cuban citizens to work on the ships?   In all our years of cruising don’t recall ever meeting a Cuban staff member.   ?????

Good idea.  Cuban's are great people.   Would be good workers.

They are not allowed to leave the island except under stringent circumstances. 

So it is doubtful they would have the opportunity.

Very sad but true.  This was the only thing that the locals told us they didn't like about their government. They want to travel...just like we enjoy doing.

Sorry, but the locals told us there was a lot more things they did not like about their government.  Travel seemed to be the least of it.

So sad that they have to leave their country to work in the field that they were trained for and went to school for all those years.  Our guide was a lawyer who earned 65.00 dollars a month working for the government.  Made 10 times that as a tour guide. Need a change of the government.
