parrotfeathers Posted July 12, 2019 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2019 Anything I need to know before calling RCL to see about adding a third person to a GS on Navigator in October? I know they have to be sure they can take another person.

parrotfeathers Posted July 12, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted July 12, 2019 Thanks on the drink package. I haven't called yet. I am wondering if RCL will want to reprice it at the prevailing price.

GUEST71919 Posted July 12, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2019 If no one already said so, there could be an additional deposit (if in a suite, likely $250 more). I added my sister to our oceanview panoramic suite for this Thanksgiving about 2 days after we booked it. It was not a problem (and at the time, the price wasn’t huge either). You must be on the week before us. We have one of those on 12/1. Just the 2 of us. 😇

Sorry to hijak this thread but it is related and I wanted to flesh a few things out. I am looking at adding my 18yo nephew to our booking for Ovation cabin 9198 in September 2020. We have booked 2 adjacent cabins, 1 for myself and wife, and 1 for my 2 boys which is where we would be adding the nephew. We hot a great price by booking on the morning the cruise was released but prices are now about 50% more. The cruise is well booked and I now cannot see much in the way of adjacent staterooms 1 of which has the sofa bed. Firstly, this stateroom is a 4D and from the deck plans does not appear to have a sofa bed. Can anyone confirm this? Will they allow my nephew to sleep on the sofa (even if not a sofa bed) or will they try to get us to refare? Secondly, if they will allow us to add my nephew and only pay the prevailing rate for him, are we better off waiting for an xx% off 3rd and 4th guest "sale" as we are still 400+ days out or is that too risky in case the ship or muster station hits capacity issues? I would add him now and if they have a sale on passenger 3/4 later then have it adjusted later. I honestly do not think any sale now will be lower then what you have though. I upgraded in mid June and the price had jumped about $1300 and has now dropped again but it is still over $500 ($650 with OBC added/not currently available) higher then when I booked. You just need to watch pricing. Edited July 13, 2019 by Casino Comp Chick

Thanks for the reply. 😀 Are you sure they will allow an adjustment to an extra passenger while keeping the original fare for the cabin?

SRF Posted July 13, 2019 #15 Share Posted July 13, 2019 IIRC, since your nephew is not your child, they need to be booked into your cabin. Once on board, you can get them a key card to the cabin with the other children, and they can sleep there. YOUR children can be booked into a connecting cabin, but not other children. Odd numbered categories hold more than 2 guests. Even numbered categories only hold 2 guests. They will not add an extra guest above 2 years old even if you say he can just sleep on the sofa. We are currently booked 1 adult per cabin. My nephew is 18 and regarded an independent adult in our country. It is so frustrating that he is regarded as less mature based on where the ship sails from. If sailing from certain countries not only is he allowed to be in a cabin by himself, he can book his own cruise and drnk alcohol under RCCL age policy. If you are cruising out of the US, minors are allowed to be in their own stateroom, without any adults, as long as that stateroom is next to or across the hall from the responsible adult. Thank you. i guess this confirms that we cannot bring him along after all. Our total price goes up 66% if we move both staterooms even if we only change the category of one and add the 3rd passenger.
