8 weeks to go and shockingly unprepared!

Going on Oceana to Greece and Adriatic.  Just wondering about Dubrovnik, Hvar and Split in particular - how far away are we docked? Is it easy to get off and have a wander?

Dubrovnik will have a shuttle bus to outside the Pile Gate. Easy to wander at will then.

At Split you tender ashore to the old part of town - again easy to DIY from there.

 

Sorry - not been to Hvar.

Hvar is a tender port - lovely spot for a wander.

 

Is there now the facility to dock in Split? When I last went, it was a tender port. Split is, indeed, absolutely lovely; another good place to just wander.

Well, i guess so, as we definitely docked.  Walked past all the Croatian coastal cruisers (mmm, looked good) and ferries between Split and Italian ports.  10-15 minutes pleasant walk till you take a right turn into the old city.

It’s as nice a port as can be for DIY

Incidentally, I think I fibbed earlier - not a free walking tour but a paid one via TripAdvisor.  Maybe £15 each for two hours and as much history, sights and wonderful a cappella choir as you would wish

Split port from ship tied up. Quite a busy place. The tower in the distance I'd Diocletians pad. 🙂
