Teens and CocoCay Water Park

I would guess that an 18-year old would be considered an adult for the purposes of escorting minors into the water park.

But it says legal guardian/parent. I would think Royal would check their Seapass cards and know.

I have 3 kids going but they are booked in 3 separate cabins, so 3 separate tickets that are not linked together.

Ages, 16, 17 and 18.

Will they be able to enter with the 18yo or do they all need to be in the same cabin under the same reservation number?

Reading on another thread that kids under 18 require an adult to gain entry to the waterpark.

Have already bought 2 passes (while on sale) for my kids.  Neither DH or myself want to use the waterpark (and I did not read the fine print).  Were you forced to buy an adult pass at the park.  If yes, what was the price and were you able to use OBC (charge it to your seapass?).

My kids are 12 and 13 but both look much older, if that matters.

Thanks.

According to a couple of reports this morning, RCI has lowered the unaccompanied age to 14 effective August 3.

OP HERE - and just back from our cruise.

Since neither DH nor myself wanted to pay for the waterpark, we decided to wait and see what would happen at the gate.  The kids had each received vouchers in the cabin.

We stood to the side and watched them try to enter with their vouchers and they were told they needed their sea pass.  They cam back to me for their sea passes.  They scanned their passes and gained entry.

DD is 13 and is 5'5 and looks about 18.  DS is 12 and is 5'9" and looks about 16.  Their correct ages are obviously on their seapass.  Like all things Royal, rules are selectively enforced (much to my pleasure in this case!).  My 12 and 13 year olds, gained entry without an adult.  DH and went and got lounge chairs by the pool.  We met up with the kids for lunch.

It was a perfect day at Coco Cay.

The kids enjoyed their time at the waterpark.  They used the waterpark for about 4 hours and then had had enough.  They said for next time, a 1/2 day pass would be enough.

I am glad you and your family were able to enjoy your Perfect Day at Cococay!

Yep.

6 yr olds often need help/assistance

16 yr olds often need controlling

Often? I don’t know how many teens you know, but as a parent of two current 16 year olds (and 3 previous 16 year olds), who’s friends are here all of the time, I find them to be kind, respectful, and no trouble at all.

My last teen is heading off to college in two weeks.  We are definitely going to miss having them around to help with the chores! :)  I totally agree, most teens I've encountered are respectful and helpful.
