Anthem of the Seas - Review - Bermuda & Caribbean - June 20, 2019 - June 29, 2019

Thanks. On NCL a cabin with Spa in the name gets spa access for the cruise. I usually love the spa but on Anthem the spa does not look too great. On NCL I have been spoiled by the most wonderful spas. If you wanted to find me either I was in the casino or the spa. Anthem does not have a therassy pool or salt room, cold plunge, etc. I looked into a spa pass but the spa does not look inviting. The spas on NCL have the best views and are huge with different pools and rooms to enjoy. The spa on Anthem looks small and dark.

Happy Friday!  My travel agent called Royal to double check if there are any “spa” perks for the spa junior suite.

As expected there are none.  The person she spoke to said they don’t even have Spa Junior Suites anymore (it’s old terminology and they now just call them J4).

I’ve heard the same about the spa on Anthem - that it’s not as fancy/nice as some other ship spas.  Guess that just means more time in the casino 🙂

I have gone to the spa for things like a massage on Anthem but never spent time in the spa part of the spa (if that makes sense).

Even with all the desserts, Scott ended up losing almost 10 pounds this cruise.  He spent more time at the gym than he gets to when we’re home.

I totally have a sweet tooth and always like to have something sweet after I eat.  It doesn’t have to be anything huge but I like something.  At home usually it’s a cookie.  I’ve gotten Scott into that habit too.

And you walk so much more, take the steps up/down multiple floors, etc.  I always come back a few lbs. lighter.  Loving the review so far BTW.  Thanks for posting!

Always fun to read your trip reports! Look forward to the next one!

Hi.

Thank you for the kind words.

I recently finished a review for a 5 night Bermuda cruise on Anthem August 2019 which I posted here too.

With the changes on cruise critic I haven’t been able to update my signature but I am trying to figure out using GoogleDocs to link that but I am not there yet.

Nice review. We go in Jan.. Do you know if they have drink packages or cards once onboard.

Dont happen to know the the slot machine number you were playing do you...lol

Hi

I know you can purchase drink packages on board.  They are advertising them a lot especially the first day or two.  However, you can often find a sale on the cruise planner before sailing that would cost less.

For the slot machine, I don’t have the number but there is a row of those machines kind of hidden away.  Not the ones in the middle near the bathroom but more in a corner.  In the row it’s the first machine near the swinging doors that crew members go in and out of.  Not the end with a big ashtray.  The bad thing about this row of slot machines is it’s in the smoking section, but it’s the games I like so I play there.  I like to be out of the way when I play - so like corner machines usually.

Have a great time.
