knippsel #1 Posted July 23 Hi all - We have a Medicare HMO which covers us out of the country and until now we have always traveled with extra travel insurance, too - GeoBlue Annual Policy, for "just in case". But next year DH turns 85, the cutoff for coverage by GeoBlue (and Medjet Assist) Has anyone found good supplementary coverage for a relatively healthy, able 85-year-old? We do take cruise line insurance, too, but that seems inadequate in case of a real emergency. Any suggestions where to look?

I'd suggest calling www.TripInsuranceStore.com But CALL them, don't just rely upon the online summaries. They'll tell you if they have any policies that cover someone >85. Also a question: If you've had MedJetAssist up til 85, then you've also gone through the medical underwriting they require starting at age 75. Was there any difficulty with that process? We are about to encounter it in the next several months, for one of us. Also, we use TIS, and we get policies through them from Travel Insured, who pay claims promptly, in case they offer coverage >85 (I hope so, b/c we are quite pleased with them thus far). Good luck! The online travel insurance brokers frequently mentioned here are: insuremytrip.com squaremouth.com tripinsurancestore.com You'll fine the same prices at each site, as the underlying premium is set by the individual insurance carrier.
