Missed Ports !!

To celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary we chose a cruise to Denmark with interesting smaller ports i.e. Hundested, Ronne and the Kiel Canal (Both ways).

We went with the expectation of "smaller ships going to smaller ports"

Firstly we missed the eastbound Kiel Canal then were told that we would not be going to Hundested or Ronne.

Beware that "smaller ships" cannot always get to these smaller ports.

Altogether a VERY DISAPPOINTING experience.

Really sorry to hear that but it's not uncommon for that to happen.  Earlier this year we went on a 62 night cruise to the Pacific coast of America and the ship (The Balmoral) developed a fault and could only run on one main engine.  We missed several ports of call including Los Angeles and Cabo San Lucas which featured heavily on Springwatch just after our return.  Instead of three days in San Francisco we only had one and a half.  FOCL gave us a 10% discount on our next cruise so you should get the same.

We did the Pacific Ocean segment of the Fred world cruise on Black Watch last year, and because of a cyclone in the area we missed Bora Bora and the Cook Islands, which was disappointing because there weren’t many ports of call on that stretch anyway. However, I got to Easter Island which was always going to be my highlight. Just one of those things.
