Hi, we are doing a 3 day Liberty cruise and have some questions.  Does anyone have the most recent fun times?  

Does the 3 day cruise have the Dr Seus brunch and other dr seus activities?  What time does the seaday brunch end?

Any special events or drinks we should be aware of? 

What is the latest we can leave the ship on disembarkation day and about how long to go through customs?

Any tips or info on Liberty would be greatly appreciated.

Was just on liberty in May for a 3day and did the overnight in Nassau.  Customs was pretty quick the issue was dependent on how many custom workers they have.  Also if you get a porter sometimes they can speed that process up for you.  I am getting ready to go back on liberty Sept 13th!

I'm doing this exact cruise in October 2020. I'm worried the cruise will feel rushed since it's so short.  Also, did you have a balcony? How was the view while in port? Thank in advance!

Here are my Liberty Tips for first timers.   --> At the end of this month it will be my 4th time on the Liberty.

Ok here are some tips for first time cruisers here I thought I would start a post with some tips and tricks and packing help. Feel free to add to this post if you have more tips and tricks. 
1. Pack a sweater or hoddie or jacket because areas of the ship can be chilly especially dining areas and theaters.
2. IF there are a lot of people in your cabin I find the collapsible storage bins particularly helpful in keeping peoples belongings separated. I take one for each person and they can put their items in it. https://www.amazon.com/DII-Foldable-Container…/…/ref=sr_1_8…
3. A lot of people find the over the door shoe organizer helpful in keeping things like toiletries, sunscreen, jewelery and other items at bay. Remember the cabins are really small. 4. I have a cruise travel go pack. It containers typical over the counter medicines and items you may need during the course of a cruise. Typically on vacation one need not worry because Walmart is always right around the corner. In mine I have Tylenol, night time sleep meds, Neosporin, tums, dramimine, bandaids, Imodium, allergy meds and any other over the counter stuff I feel I may need. This stuff is insanely expensive on the cruise. 
5. Power – there is only 1 plug in the cabin. I typically take a power strip. Note it can not have a surge protector or they may confiscate it. Also I was on Liberty in September and they had chargers for phones, camera tablets etc in the lamps in my cabin. This may not be in all cabins yet. 
6. Clocks – there is no clock in your room. If you want one other than your phone alarm bring it. 
7. Sunscreen take more than you think you may ever need. Also don’t forget the aloe if you have a tendency to burn. 
8. Cheers package – a couple tips and tricks to getting the most out of it. 
a. Get a water each time you order a drink if you are a big water drinker. Even if you don’t drink it then you can put it in the fridge in your cabin
b. For shore excursions I tend to get a couple powerades from the coffee bar on the back of the lido restaurant area and take them off the ship with me. It is ok to take drinks off the ship but remember don’t take any fruit off or you could be fined. 
c. Don’t forget the milkshakes and specialty coffees on deck 5 by the night club. These are included with the cheers package and if you are on the fence to get it or not this may be a difference maker. 
d. Tip your bartenders extra. They will remember you and hook you up typically with quicker service next time they see you at their bar. 
9. Do you have hats and things you want to get out of the way. Command hooks are a great way to hang hats on the wall.https://www.amazon.com/Command-Hooks-Medium-7…/…/ref=sr_1_9…
10. Also If memory serves me correctly the walls on Liberty are magnetic and you can use hook magnets to hang things on as well.
11. If you go up the stairs in the Lido Restaurant another option for food that is free of charge is The Ole Barbeque. It has some really good options for brisket and mac and cheese and stuff. I have never seen a long line for it. 
12. Download the carnival hub app before you go. You can use it for free to see the fun times. You can even favorite activities you want to go to and it will notify you when they are about to start. If you wish to chat with other cruisers using the hub app it will cost you 5$. Makes it easier to find your new friends. 
13. Fun times – if you prefer to find activities on the paper copy bring highlighters. A different color highlighter for each person and you can highlight the things you wish to do during the day. 
14. Ear plugs- if you are a light sleeper you may want to pack these. 
15. You can order 2 of anything on the menu in the Main dining room so if you are undecided if you want to try the spring rolls or the strawberry bisque order both. MY 20 year old son orders and eats 2 meals almost every night in the main dining room. 
16. You can use your sign and sail card in the casino to get cash at the tables instead of paying the insane atm fee. 
17. Be sure to notify your bank if you plan to use your credit cards or debit cards outside of the US. Otherwise they will shut you down.
18. Be sure to check your kids into the kids club once you get onboard and meet the staff and get the schedule of activities for your kids. 
19. I always pack a copy of birth certificates or passports in my suitcase. That way if I get to Florida and some how managed to forget the originals we aren’t totally hosed. I have yet to forget the originals but usually about 2 weeks before a cruise I have the dream that I do. 
20. No need to pack beach towels. Carnival puts blue beach towels in each room that you can use for your shore excursions and on the deck. You can also check out towels on the deck. Make sure you return them or they will charge you for them.
21. Bag for shore excursion. Do you believe last trip I forgot my shore excursion backpack? That was not a fun day. This time I am taking my 31 tote bag. I will use it to carry on my 12 pack of redbull and my kids juice boxes and soda and my wine. 
22. You can carry on 12 cans of soda per person and 1 bottle of wine per guest age 21 and over. No bottles of water or soda can be carried on. 
23. You can barter in the straw market in Nassau. – Well I think that is a good start. Hope this helps some people out.

Some really great suggestions and ideas here!  I have now been on the Liberty twice and will be sailing on her 3 more times, already booked, in the future.  I love this class of ship and have found the staff on the Liberty to be among the best and friendliest.  Here are some extra tips:

 

*Even if you aren't planning on visiting the Steak House during your trip, go to the bar in the Steak House.  They have a different selection of wines and are seldom busy.  

 

*I usually at some point visit the Piano Bar and have had some really good performers.  I don't know who is on the Liberty, but plan on going during my next cruise.  

 

*Get to the Alchemy Bar at 5.  By 6 pm and for the rest of the evening, it gets really crowded.  

 

*Be sure and look at the Fun Times to see what the drink of the day is.  If you don't have CHEERS, this is a good way to save money on certain drinks.

 

*I always bring an insulated cup, at least 8 ounces.  Drinks can get really warm, really fast on the decks by the pools.  

 

*I bring a "white noise" machine and have never had trouble sleeping.

 

*Downy Wrinkle Release FOR SURE!  This stuff is awesome!  As I unpack, I spritz my clothes as I hang them up.  The room smells amazing and the wrinkles fall out by the time I want to wear them.

 

Many of my tips are "Liberty specific", but thought I'd throw them out there! Have a great cruise!

The Liberty is one of our Favorite ships as well. we have sailed her 4 times.  Watch the ship runners I just realized this was a thing on our last 2 cruises and didn't realize how popular it was. I have been sailing Carnival since 2004. Funny I never see anything on here about it.  All the above tips are great as well. Do most of them myself. Sunrise is next for us depending on that outcome could be back to the Liberty for our April cruise.

When we were on Liberty a few months ago they had the Dr Seuss Parade and Story Time on day 2 of the cruise and the Dr. Seuss Breakfast on day 3 of the cruise. 

 

The seaday brunch was from 8:30 AM - 1 PM on day 3 of the cruise.  On day 2 of the cruise the MDR was open for breakfast from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. 

 

The one event my wife and I never miss attending is the Military Appreciation Gathering, which was held in the morning on day 3 of the cruise.  Carnival does an outstanding job hosting this event and it is the one event we never miss on a Carnival cruise. 

 

Like other posters in this thread, Liberty is one of our favorite Carnival ships. We have sailed on her 7 times and will be on her again later this month. If they add a Red Frog Pub to Liberty like they have done to a few Conquest class ships, she would likely become my favorite Carnival ship.

The tips above are great! I've sailed the Liberty before and still didn't know most of this. 

 

Does anyone know what time the casinos are open? Are they open while we're in port in the Bahamas? When I went two years ago, the ship did not stay in the Bahamas overnight.

I think they opened at 7 pm on our sailing a few weeks ago.

 

Heading back on Monday for a 4 night sailing. Will probably hit the Alchemy Bar every night as we did last time (pre and post dinner "desserts"!).

 

I was not real impressed with the BBQ place - would have preferred if it was still the old Fish-n-Chips venue like it was before... but that's just me !

We love Alchemy Bar! We are definitely planning on spending some time there when we go. Will you please keep an eye out for which flavored liquors (vodka, rum) they have? I tried to look through the bar pictures but few had the actual liquor captured. 

 

This is my tip for other cruisers who are going to drink but like to keep it lower carb : bring crystal light or mio or whatever water enhancer you prefer. I personally use liquid stevia for mojitos (ask for no simple syrup) or True Citrus.

I guess the below would not qualify as low carb, huh?  LOL -- In the "real world" I normally avoid almost all added sugar, and double down on the nuts, avocados, coconut oil, veggies, and some fruit. Along with wild caught fish, poultry, and grass fed beef. Then, there's VACATION. "Livin' for the weekend", so to speak!  😄

I don't know if you have already sailed, or received an answer about flavored vodka, but thought I'd respond just in case or to help someone else.  I found that the flavored vodkas varied at each bar.  The bar by the aft adult pool, and near the Pizza Pirate, had the best selection.  They had Grey Goose Orange, which was my fav.  In case you didn't know, the Alchemy bar has two infused vodkas.  They had both strawberry and pineapple during my cruise in August.  It was awesome!

The steakhouse menu is the same each evening... lol (sorry, had to throw that out there). Have not been to the MDR on any line in perhaps 10 years!

I've read through some of the comments, so I'll try not to duplicate anything.  The mac and cheese in the bbq place above the Lido buffet is phenomenal! I brought a bowl up there and just asked them to fill it up, instead of just getting a small scoop on a metal tray.  The bbq is okay; I live in the south, so I have really good bbq all around me.  It's a nice change from the usual fare.  Mongolian Wok is worth the wait for lunch.  It's a made-to-order Asian fusion venue, and it's included in the fare.  Try to get there early if you can to avoid the wait, but definitely try it at least once.  It's only open for lunch from 11a - 2p.  Blue Iguana Cantina is open for breakfast, and the breakfast burritos are really good.  I have read where people got a ton of bacon from lido breakfast and saved it to make a BLT at lunch.  Lido buffet for lunch, IMO, is not that great.  If I remember correctly, it was a lot of "salad"; the traditional kind with veggies, and potato salad, slaw, etc.  For debarkation - I believe you have to be out of your cabin by 8:30 and off the ship by 10:30.

Thanks for the tip on orange Grey Goose!  My most recent sailing was on Ecstasy, and I was introduced to cherry Grey Goose, and I love it!  It's very good with sprite zero, which I had carried on a 12 pack of.

Do the entrees and sides  stay the same on the bbq buffet for the whole cruise?   Would they have the mac and cheese everyday?  and what are some of the other sides if you remember.   Thanks.

I do believe everything stays the same at the bbq place, just like at Mongolian Wok, Blue Iguana, and Guys Burgers.  I remember bbq beans, but not sure what else.  And I think there was the mac and cheese everyday.  I remember pulled pork, brisket, some type of chicken, I think it was chicken quarters maybe?  And in my original comment I forgot to mention the Carnival Deli.  It is on the side of the buffet, sort of, in like a hallway area going from the buffet to pizza area (I think...it's def down a hallway-type space that have seating).  Very, very good!  The cuban is my favorite, and they have hot dogs for the kids.  The wraps were also very good.  I think it's my favorite alternate dining venue because it's open from 11a - 11p.

the Liberty does have metal walls so magnetic hooks are really helpful.  Also, that trip is pretty windy.  If you are envisioning time spent on deck in loungers as part of your vacation, bring towel clips to hold your towel to the chair.  The pizza place has cans of soda early in the morning.
