What did you like best about your NCL cruise

I was on a 4 day to Cuba aboard the Sky. Best thing is a tie between Open Bar and The Plantation Club. There are only 2 things I didn't like 1) is not only an issue on NCL; the hot tubs and pools were over crowded 2) it was hard to find a server near the pool. It seemed like there were two "on duty" and they it took forever for them to come back. It was more efficient to just go to the bar(s) ourselves.

Best:

  • Gotta admit that the planning and anticipation is a big part of the experience (see last best point)
  • Freestyle - for all the reasons mentioned above
  • Unpacking once and then locking everything in the safe and only having our key card with us
  • Being on the water
  • The variety of restaurants where I don't worry about the price of the meal
  • Drinking without the worry of driving
  • Visiting new places
  • Back home, sharing our stories with other cruising fans

Least

  • The expense of getting to the port and parking.  It can add quite a bit of extra expense for us
  • Pushy people at the elevators
  • the cons are far, far outnumbered by the good bits

BEST

-Best entertainment of any cruise line I've sailed

-"Perks" (namely drinks and dining)

-Service....I've never had one crew member who didn't try their best to make me happy...even when things didn't go according to plan.  They truly try to please.

-Cleanliness.....NCL keeps their ships clean....regardless of their age

-Every time I board and see the trademark, huge chandelier, it makes me smile

-THE WATERFRONT....best ship feature on any line I've sailed.

WORST

-Passengers who try too elbow their way in front of you for entertainment, dinner, getting drinks at a bar, etc.  Recently, it seems I've run into more than one passenger who wants to "fight" about U.S. Politics.  I don't go on a cruise to do that.

-Narrow hallways....I've warned quite a few who were thinking about using an electric scooter, a baby's scooter, etc about the narrow aisles and hallways.  They frustrate themselves and everyone around them.

-Reservation system that NCL uses.  I don't quite understand it.  If you make a reservation, or you just walk up to be seated for a meal, it seems extraordinarily complex to be checked in and to be seated.  For the entertainment venues, and embarking/disembarking all they do is "laser" the bar code on your key card and you're off to the races.
