Harmony Aug 4, 2019 - We're not on Empress anymore.

Speaking of wine. We got all ours/Laura's yesterday. Three WZ, two Corona (cans no less), 4 waters, and a plate of cookies. I think we had 6 waters last week.

Forgot, we also got one glass bottle of Evian, suite perk.

A $20 tip on Labadee Suite area to the local attendant, we had loungers and umbrellas and free flowing drinks (we had the drink package).

I think @John&LaLa can vouche for this.

Yeah, well, we're in a JS and are D+ so no Barefoot Beach for us.  Our last time in a GS and using Barefoot was several years ago on our last Explorer cruise.  We only had GS the 4 times we were on Ex.  We love GS, but since we cruise 2-4 times per year now (counting b2b's as 2), it's a bit expensive.  So, we sail in JS now which gives us more space.  I'm sure we'll do a GS again, just not in the next year and a half or so.  We're booked out through fall 2020 in JS's.

Big Red boat (Premier)?  Seascape?   Lots of shrimp boats docked up where the cruise ships are now.  And that stinky Scallop processing plant!!  🤢

We were on  the 4th sailing of the Royale.

Had no idea if we would like cruising so the 5 day was a good way to find out.

It was glorious. Because it was all new to us everything was special.

The  company I worked for for several years took all employees over a period of a couple of months on the Royale and then the Oceanic.

Those were good times!

Hard to believe.

By increasing Cabanas pricing they create more open loungers in general.

Apparently the new strategy to accommodate 2 Oasis class ships is to convince every Cabana buyer to max out with 8 guests each.  That frees up seating  for the rest of us.

OK, showing my ignorance here. Or just brain collapse.

What port is OC?

Anyone onboard need one? 🤣

Just kidding, that would be wrong

So, I just decided to load phone pics onto the computer and use that extra access code to post form a real device.  I apologize for all the typos earlier today.  Posting from phone and running around is a challenge

OK now, back to my story...

Muster is over, time for 4:30 sailaway.

We were reminded that we could do sailaway from Deck 17 Sundeck. Sounds good to me.

Except Laura isn't up for it, so I head out on my own.

Got there right at 4:30, so I was able to use a drink voucher for Amstel #4. Crisps are complimentary. #suitelife

First off, apologies for that last post. To many pictures.  I'll try and keep the numbers down to 4-5 in the future.

Headed back to cabin to change, pick up Laura and go to the SL for more drinks.

Laura wants to stop and drop off Skittles for Breno the LA.  A thank you for the lovely wine last time. Apparently he likes Skittles. Sour and tropical especially.

20190818_153346.thumb.jpg.921542b58567b6b6ab5ae148d31f1654.jpg

Got a window seat in the SL and proceeded to start our week long game of rummy.  I always lose eventually, but I'm up as of now.  Switched over to Cape Codders (Vodka Cranberry)

20190818_231043.thumb.jpg.577ec3cdf0e87781062b3cef58f2fbbe.jpg

Day 1 is Filet night in CK. I decided to forego my cauliflower steak and get some good old beef and broccoli.

20190818_194542.thumb.jpg.9f3744b7c7e1c7c370986e8de39cecb6.jpg

It was plated better than this, I just forgot to get a pic.  This will come up a lot this week. Sorry

BTW, this dish comes with asparagus, i swapped for broccoli. It was very good.  Need to walk it off. Let's visit the casino. 😁

Played Dancing Drums, and the Blessings game next to it.  Laura gave them $100 and I'm up $30. We'll be back.

Visited Diamond Lounge and met Rod and Val. They were nice. Then we walked the Promenade and chatted with the photographers down by Port Shopping Desk. Not much call for pics tonight. They do want to shoot Laura on formal night with all her jewelry on.

Back to the cabin to just in time to get the message from Captain Johnny.  I think I've covered it well enough.

But here is a lovely image of Jetty Park Pier at night.

End of Day One

See you tomorrow

I was reading and scrolling a bit too quickly, and misread this to say that you got a MASSAGE from Captain Johnny!

I then wondered a few different things....

1) What loyalty tier in C&A or how expensive a suite must one have to warrant such service?

2) Does the 18% auto-gratuity still apply?

3) Will Wanpen get jealous?

John, a couple boarding day logistics questions. Over the last three weeks has Harmony embarked/disembarked on the port side in PC?  I think you have been somehow related to each sailing by boarding or disembarking. I’m wondering if life boat drills will be this week?

After muster is there a better side of the side of the ship to be on for sailaway?  I’m guessing starboard.

Thanks.

Starboard to see Jetty Park, port to see rocket launches.

John, I just started bringing tea lights for bathroom night lights.

Really made a difference on Crown Princess not to have the light on at 3am.

Now I just read there is a night light so no need for tea lights. I don’t want to have to spend a dollar for them if I don’t need to!

I know you’re in a suite, but can you tell me if Jr Suites have a night light in the bathroom?

standard balcony cabins?

Anybody??

Night lights were  in the balconies.

The comment I read was referring to battery operated tea lights in cruise ship bathrooms.

Specifically that newer ships have night lights in the bathrooms so no need for tea lights.

Ok, this is going to include next week. What kind of things do I need to find out next week?  I seem to have 3-4 open requests.

CR Signature tier security line

Izumi as a D+ BOGO

Large group in MDR

Chocolate buffets and fountains

Questions that need answering for $100, Alex

As mentioned earlier, no line at all for security so I totally forgot to ask about Signature.  I'll try and ask Casino Host.

Izumi does NOT accept D+ BOGO

We will be in MDR for lunch, I'll ask about large groups then

Chocolate buffer is day 5, or so I'm told

No charge for taking money out at slot machines. I've taken $100 so far.

Forgot to ask about baked potatoes  as a swap,  I did swap broccoli for asparagus

Question  about this, since once again on your thread I am confused.

So we currently have $600 OBC for our next summer cruise.

Is it possible to get this out on a slot machine with no added fees?

How?

Is it the same way you cash out your cruise earned points and convert to $$.

Another question, If you cash out your points do you lose the chance of earning a discount of a future cruise (certificate).

TY
