So what are those silver things standing at the foot of the beds, that look like the ash trays on deck (Ventura promenade). I didn't notice the ones on Britannia.

I have no idea! Sorry. But there is definitely no smoking in the Retreat on Britannia.

I wasn't doubting you, just curious as to what they are. After you said no smoking,  I thought they might have been lights, but doubt it.

No worries, they do look like ashtrays, but maybe they are defunct now?

They are almost certainly lights.

Do the Members of the Entertainment team, come to the Retreat to make sure you are enjoying yourself or are you left alone to enjoy your book in the quiet.  Is there piped music being played all the time?

Usually quiet, with no visits from the Entertainment staff.

The cost to use the Retreat for a couple for 14 nights onboard this cruise is £500. And no we didn’t book it.

Wow, that's a lot to pay to sit behind some doors. Didn't even look as if there was any shade.
