Lunch stop

We will be in Rotan the first part of September and are doing a private tour. I was thinking about asking our driver for a good local spot for lunch but wanted suggestions from others. We are looking for authentic local cuisine and not some "Americanized" food. Thoughts/suggestions?

Drivers will know good spots. If up around French Harbor or Daniel's  Sloths, head to Temporary Cals in First Bite.

If in West End, Gingers, Calelu, Creole Chicken,or Anthony's  Chicken are good.

Around Sandy Bay, Blue Bahia has excellent lion fish.

Down in West Bay, Celeste's for beleadas.

While all the places mentioned above may have good food, I doubt any of the locals could afford them. When this question is asked on the TA forums, several of the expats reccommned the Sun Gas station in Coxen Hole, they have a small sorta deli counter they offer food from. There are also heaps of hole in the wall places in Coxen Hole.

Perhaps your driver has an Auntie who would be willing to cook for you.
