Welcome to Cruise Critic.  There are many places here to do some research.  Further down on the main boards page is the Ports of Call forum, with a separate board for Mexican Riviera:  https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/124-mexican-riviera/

Also on that page, under Cruise Discussion Topics is a board for Scuba and Snorkeling:  https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/24-scuba-and-snorkeling/

Another place to get ideas is on the ROLL CALL for your cruise.  Back on that boards page, scroll down to ROLL CALLS, click on Carnival, then Panorama, then look for a thread with the dates for your cruise.  That's where you can connect with other CC members who will be cruising with you.  EM

As Noted By CruiserBruce, The Snorkeling has not been very Good on Mexican Rivera Cruises. I have finally stopped Packing the snorkel Equipment. I just Bring a good pair of swim Goggles that are also shaded, Just in Case I see something I can get a picture of.

I'm only about 80 miles out of Long Beach and it is not worth bringing the Gear.

I agree about the Mexican Riveria snorkeling. We've snorkeled in Cabo, Manzanillo, Mazatlán, & others and have found the water to be cloudy & the fish not particularly plentiful.  The one exception to these experiences was snorkeling with whale sharks in LaPaz (a private excursion).  That was a totally amazing experience!
