Do you bring any creature comforts?

Planning on adding an aromatherapy diffuser and oils for our next cruise. Create my own spa. Cheaper than going to Canyon Ranch 🤣Does anyone know if I'll get called down to the naughty kids room if I put one in my luggage?

I brought a diffuser on our last cruise with Royal and our last with Celebrity without issue.

I love my pillow as well.  Its memory foam.  My wife uses it on the airplane as well.( she's window, I'm aisle).  She can sleep anywhere with any pillow( retired military).  I can not.  I would love to bring a small fan, but I don't.  I downloaded a fan app on the Ipad and use that at night when traveling.

I might have to throw a roll of duct tape in my carry-on for this trip.  We're going to the ABC's next month.  We've never cruised for longer than a week and this cruise is 10 days.  I know the first and the last day don't really count.

We book Concierge or Aqua and ask fir and receive memory foam pillows. Ask your steward for them.

LOL  -   When I started reading I thought George was your late husband - until I got to the point of finding a good breeder.    Thanks for a good laugh.   OK I'm on my first cup of coffee.

Glad I was able to make you smile!  Yes, George was my 14 yr old black standard poodle; such a great companion.  He never gave me any back talk at all and loved me unconditionally!  Miss the He!! out of him still, after two years.

When I started reading I thought George was your husband too!

Creature comforts? A new wig and two wig stands. I wear the current wig or hat in daytime depending on what we're doing. Switch to the new one (same color & style) for dinner and other night time venues. Never travel w/o them. This saves me thousand of hours a year and it's perfect every time!

I also bring my own toiletries.

I make dw manhandle her own bag.  LOL! (not really)

Don’t worry, every time we go to a grocery store and they ask if we need help taking the stuff to our car, I just tell them, ‘No, my wife can handle it’. I get the funny stare from them and the cold stare from you-know-who........By the way, why do they ask if I need help loading stuff????l I don’t understand.

I have a very lightweight, inexpensive over the dog show hanger with clear plastic pockets that I like to bring.  It takes up no room and frees bathroom space plus I can see where everything is easily.  Just have to be sure there is an actual door rather than sliding bathroom door or long closet.

I forgot to mention the most important item: ........ 2 rolls of really soft Toilet Paper.  I do not like the toilet paper that feels like cardboard.

Now that is a creature comfort.🤣

How many suitcases does it take just to hold all ofyour creature comforts?

I'm surprised no one has said that the toilet paper on board is made that way not to plug up the system and the comfy stuff is what causes the overload and the smell.

One for me, one for my spouse( both checked).  2 carry-on suitcases as well.

We fly Alaska and have an Alaska credit card so we don't pay for baggage.  We're also in Ft. Lauderdale for 2 days before.

But the worst thing about it is that the inconsiderate people who insist on bringing and using the comfy stuff then clog  up the sewer line not only for their own cabin, but for all the other cabins up and down the corridor that are on the same sewer line.

I contributed earlier and have been reading along - it's interesting because I think some people may be confusing "creature comforts" (which OP mentioned) and "necessities for them" which they bring from home. For instance, I do bring Lysol wipes but I wouldn't call them a creature comfort. I bring my own Tylenol - same thing. The things I mentioned, and what I gleaned from OP, are comfort items from home that make the trip more enjoyable, I suppose.... items that make one feel more secure, snuggly, less anxious, restful, relaxed.

Semantics? Maybe. 😉 But I do see a difference.

Oh dear.

To each her own on most of the stuff you listed as creature comforts. If you have room, sure why not.  But damaging the ship's plumbing might be where this thread takes a real big turn.  If you must use your own, don't flush it and toss it in the bin instead.

Learned in RVing, there's a reason besides budget for that less than comfy toilet paper.

I agree about some creature comforts — some are warm and snuggly, like pillows and blankets, etc.

 However, some items like Lysol

wipes, give me a sense of security and reduced anxiety.  I feel better with a sanitized germ free cabin

What concerns me are the people using their own toilet paper - not approved for the ship’s plumbing system.  Celebrity should let people know which toilet paper is approved and which is not.  I would hope that no one wants to cause engineering  problems for themselves and others.

Since we live in Florida and drive to many cruise ports I can overpack. When driving, I bring my own hairdryer, toiletries, extra hangers, feather pillow, various pop up storage bins, magnetic hooks, Yeti tumbler, small bottles of real maple syrup, and some bags of our favorite nuts. On our upcoming cruise this Saturday on the Symphony, I am adding a couple of battery pillar candles, a scent diffuser, a small framed family photo and a small travel blanket. I tend to keep our cabin very neat ( our stewards probably love us) so I like to make an effort to make the environment more individualized for us. Also DH loves gin and tonic and we have discovered Fever Tree tonic and will be bringing 12 of the small 6oz. cans, as per the RCL allowance, to bring to the bars with us for our G&Ts.

We bring a little "pharmacy" for what ifs which I don't consider a creature comfort/luxury

We like to travel light and walk off the ship and to the parking garage at the pier---- We like to be on our way ASAP.

So beyond the travel roll of duct tape, highlighter, drain cover/laundry line and magnetic hooks... Nothing exciting in our bags.

On upcoming B2B DH will have laptop as clients don't care if he wants vacation time... Either he's available or risks them moving on. Sometimes he brings his small bluetooth speaker to listen to music in the cabin (not in public spaces nor balcony)

On our TA in APril we met a couple who had a small printer with them! 😜

Some of the ideas from other posters are interesting and things I had not considered before! Some great ideas

Thank your DH for his considerate approach to enjoying his music. An earlier poster's statement that her DH would sit on the balcony "listening to his type of music (hard rock)" made me cringe.

Funny story about this

During our TA--the soundtrack from the movies on Deck 12 (Infinity) were sooo loud we could tel what the movies were and even sometimes in the room with the door shut it was loud.

One day we were hearing a VERY OFF COLOR comedian and thought it was from the movie deck. Having had enough sound pollution I complained at guest services---

In a passing comment to the people next to us--on the way to dinner-- We found out it was them. They played loud music and such on their balcony while playing cards. It was an awkward moment. The folks next door stopped playing the music on the balcony.

While the movie deck was loud, adding their music and the bad musician in the sunset bar deck 10... the cacophony of noise pollution was horrible.

The people on the other side of us (whale in casino with pull) was able to get the bad singer in sunset bar to stop using the midi (thump machine).

It took a WEEK of complaints to deal with the movie noise.

We'd never use speakers on a balcony.  We feel the same about speakers on a balcony like we do about unauthorized smoking on balconies 😉

A dog show hanger - is that where the lil pooch sleeps at night?  Spell checker gotcha I guess.
