Injection needle disposal on board

I've started using a drug that is given using a click injector (like EpiPen). It is taken every 14 days and will need to be taken on the cruise we will be on in October.

Will the ships medical facility let me dispose of the used injector at their facility?

Anyone with experience with this? Or diabetes injection needles?

Cruise ships, like just about every hotel on the planet, offer sharps boxes to anyone who requests one.

You can ask your cabin steward for a needle disposal box.

 

OR

 

Since you will only being this once every 14 days, you can talk to the nurse in the infirmary and ask if you can dispose of the needle down there.

Ms G uses probably the same 14 day injector you are referring to.  They will not fit into ship provided sharps containers.  If dropped off at medical, they will gladly dispose of them.

Since you only need to dispose of the injector every 14-days, just bring it to the infirmary and ask them to take care of it. They will happily do that for you.
When I finish a canister of diabetes test strips, I just bring it down and they take it every time.

I had to dispose of a needle on my last cruise. They were happy to take it at the medical facility.

I am a type two diabetic who has to stick my finger the times a day and a shot of insulin each morning.  Thw HAL line is most gerous in suppling sharps containers.

I need only one injection on an eleven day cruise so I'll do what ever they want. It should be simple.

Good to know about hotels too.
