Fort Lauderdale Port

My DH and another couple will be on a Tropical/ Eastern fourteen days cruise that returns to Fort Lauderdale midway so those that are just taking one of the 7 days can disembark and allowing those who booked just the last 7 days embark. My question is if we want to get off and take a taxi or Uber to the beach for the day, do we have to go through the lines again when we board the ship or would it be just like any other port and just show our cards to board?

You will have "In Transit" cards.  Show those to get back onto the ship.  No, you do not have to go through check-in again unless you leave those cards on the ship.  Double check to make certain you have them and some ID prior to leaving the ship.

Enjoy your day at the beach.  Make certain you're back in time for muster.  Most ships at FLL have a 3 p.m. all aboard time but ask the Front Desk to be sure.  Enjoy your cruise.

There will be a letter delivered to your stateroom on the days before your first cruise ends.  This will have all the information you need, including the 'In Transit Cards' that mean you can pass the check in desks.  You may need to be back on board for the second muster drill or you may be excused the second drill.  The letter in your stateroom will explain it all!

Don't forget to bring back the 2 bottles of wine that you are allowed for the second cruise!  If you are late enough back to the ship (after 2 pm or so) there will be very few people in the terminal, as most will have boarded already.
