Why do you hate HAL so much?

How many years  and how many cruises enable us to self-refer as 'loyal HAL customers?  are  there some established numbers of which I am unaware?

Spot on, sail7seas - great use of the rhetorical question!!!

We cruise HAL because we like the product. Have also done Celebrity, RCCL, and Princess. Had good times on all of them, but HAL seems to fit our style. Have been especially impressed by the new entertainment venues. That said, am under no illusion that it is anything more than business.

Exactly.

Does being loyal to a product or to a vendor mean continuing to buy the product or deal with vendor even though the you no longer like it or  if there is another product from a different vendor that you prefer or think is better in some important way?

We have had six or seven cruises on Celebrity.  Does that make us loyal?  Even though we have had another 13-15 on other cruise lines.

Or does in mean that like marriage, in sickness and in health, you stick with the same cruise line year after year no matter what?  Changes in that cruise line, changes in the market, changes in your personal preferences do not impact that loyalty?

Tell that to LOVEHAL, the OP.

Don't confuse the business with the Experience. Many HAL veterans have become critics. They're loyal to the Experience, and are willing to criticize the business, They're hoping that the business will find its way back to the Experience.

I think our issue wasn’t so much with the experience but rather what we were paying for a vista suite, usually $300+ pp/day, as compared to what we can book and subsequently experience on other similar cruise lines such as Princess and Celebrity.

For example we have an upcoming 30 day Asia/TP cruise booked in an aft-facing Penthouse cabin with all perks included on the Grand Princess for around $276 pp/day.

I'd say that if you have been on more than one HAL cruise and you are likely to go on others, you are a "Loyal HAL Customer".
