We’re on this same sailing and have heard constant maintenance noise (metal grinding/pounding) coming from the crew-only area across the hall from our stateroom every day for eight days now. Our stateroom is on the back of the hump on deck 11. Has anyone else been hearing this noise?

Are you on the slant of the hump or aft of it? Port or starboard? What is opposite from you?  We've been on port side forward slant and heard nothing. I hope you get some relief.

On the aft slant and starboard. We’re essentially across the hall from the smokestack. We actually had the exact same cabin on Solstice for 12 nights last year and never heard anything. Kinda makes us wonder what’s so broken that they’ve had to work on it for 7 days straight.

We're on Reflection in March, forward slant, starboard, one deck up. I hope that they get it straightened out for you (and us).

Tomorrow is our last day, so its your last chance for questions to me.....

cruisestitch I just wanted to say thanks for reporting while onboard that Reflection had no free movies anymore it amped things up quite a bit! I think those ships with you being first reporting in got everyone calling and writing.

Hope you had a great cruise!

Hi could you please post martini bar prices. Am deciding whether to upgrade to premium package. Also is it possible to get smaller martinis or non premium brands at the martini bar under the classic package? We are not big drinkers but like a martini or two.

Sailing on Reflection Oct 12. Thanks for your help.

I wish I could help with the martini bar prices, but I’m already in the Atlanta airport on my way home after an arduous trans Atlantic trip.

Happy to be of help with the movie thing. I’m one who always watches in room movies so I am very happy that the issue was resolved so quickly and I will have them for my upcoming Caribbean cruises

Absolutely no problem I should have checked the date before I posted that question! Have a safe journey home.

Have questions ? Ask away...

I have 2 staffing questions I'm hoping you'll be able to answer.  Do you know who the captain's club host/hostess is?  We have met, several times on the Reflection a wonderful bar waiter whose name is Humberto. He is from Columbia.  Do you happen to know if he is still on the Reflection?

Luann was the Captains Club hostess, a delightful lady from Mexico.

i never saw a bar server named Humberto, sorry.

We were on this cruise as well.  The itinerary was wonderful.  We opted for Ghent instead of Bruges this time.  The towns are definitely different with Bruges being business oriented and Ghent a college town.

Except for a couple of room service meals and one Mast Grill we ate exclusively in the MDR.  Generally, it was just average - nothing screamed "EAT ME!" - not up to previous experiences.

The toiletries are awful.  Our steward claimed they are the same they've always used but that is not the case.

We didn't attend the theater, preferring to relax with a drink in Passport or Ensemble and enjoy the performers there - all of whom were very good.

We were in 7262 on the angle.  Nice cabin with a little extra on the balcony.  The only downside being the stewards' closet just outside our door.  That could be a bit noisy if trying to sleep in.

Casino was pretty stingy right up until the last sea day when I hit for $1,586.41 on the penny slots so we could break even for the trip.  😃

Humberto is currently on board.

That's great.  He was wonderful to us.  If you see him, can you find out if he'll still be on board for the Nov. 5th TA?

Thanks so much!

Also just off the ship.  Had a fantastic cruise.  To us it really did not seem any more crowed than the other S class ships.  We had the class package and could just pay the difference for a martini in the Martini Bar ($4 plus tip).  Captain club members were able to order the smaller martinis during Captain club party hours ( 5-7).  The bartenders there were terrific.

He said he is going home after the current cruise.  But he gets back on board right after your TA cruise.

Thank you for asking!  I'm thrilled he's going home but disappointed we won't see him again!  Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

This is a great itinerary -- they only get to do it once a year to reposition the ship.

Next year (2020) has a slightly different itinerary than we had -- we ended in Barcelona, it ends in Rome.  We had an overnight in Bilbao, next year has only one day.  Who knows about 2021 yet, they won't be releasing those itineraries for a couple of months.

I liked Bilbao far more than I expected to -- I did a shore excursion to the Museum with a walking tour of the old city, which I thought was charming.

Reflection will never be my favorite S class ship -- It always feels a bit more crowded.  If the weather is good, so people can be up on deck more, that certainly helps.  We had cool and rainy weather for the first four days, but once the sun came out, people scattered, although Cafe al Bacio was always crowded.

Nevertheless, I can recommend this cruise and I think you'll be glad if you book it.

We were in 8283 - port aft slant - and experienced the same grinding/pounding noise off and on - as early as 8:00am on a sea day and once as late as 9:00pm.  We contacted guest services several times to no avail. Finally an officer (in marketing and finance) happened to ask how we were enjoying our cruise and we told her we were having a fabulous cruise except for the frequent cabin noise problem. She looked into it and got us compensation - $250 pp future cruise credits!  We will be applying them to our July 2020 Alaskan cruise on the Millennium.

Watch out for the crazy monkeys in Gibraltar.  Better yet keep your Iphone ready to snap some video.

We had one take a zip lock bag of medicine from an unsuspecting guest who didn't seem to want to give it up.
