We sail on Indy on Saturday Canary Cruise from Southampton, its been a long while since we have been on RCI can you help me with a few questions

Is there a kettle and tea making facilities in the stateroom.

How many formal nights will there be (12 night cruise). How many wear DJ's don't want to look out of place when i wear mine!

What complimentary shower gel and shampoo etc is provided

What sockets are provided in stateroom.

Are most night in dining room casual dress code i assume chinos or smart jeans are ok, and smart polo shirts are ok with no motifs.

Is it very easy to swap when on board from early dinning to any time dinning.

Do you have to book climbing wall, flow rider and laser game.

We have a prepaid drinks package, can you advise how the wine and port works with dinner. How does the coffee and cake work work with the drinks package.

On boarding day are there any dinning rooms open for lunch or do we have to use the 'Bun Fight Area'.

Do they have late buffet in the casinos like NCL

Wheres the best place for a snack late at night like fish and chips or spicy chicken wings like NCL.

Can you self disembark on arrival back at Southampton.

Do they do a 'Mudslide Cocktail' at the bars.

Thanks in advance

There are kettles in every stateroom on RC cruises originating from the UK.

Bathroom amenities include bars of soap and a combo shampoo/conditioner dispenser in the shower.

Sockets are two US 110V and one Euro 220V.

Not sure about changing dining, go to the dining room as soon as you board.

No "free" dining rooms open for lunch on embarkation day.  Windjammer, Cafe Promenade, and Sorrento's.

No late buffet.

No late night venue for fish/chips/wings.  Room service is available for $8 per order.

Yes, they have mudslide cocktails.

You can self disembark in Southampton and Independence usually use the City Terminal.

Most people on board are Brits and formal nights are usually well observed by guest's although suits and Tux are not compulsory.

Promenade Cafe on the Royal Promenade is open 24 hours for hot drinks and snacks.

$13 limit per drink,you pay the difference+gratuity.

Bottles of wine have a discount only with the drinks package.

Flow rider and climbing wall have set opening hours (posted in compass and on sports deck) and you just turn up. I don't know about laser.

I have a feeling that the drinks package limit was $14 per drink. I did a live review back in May and posted all the compasses if you want to search for it.

Over the last few years, l have noticed that true formal dress on formal nights out of Southampton are back in a big way. On Explorer last month, l would estimate 80% of men were in tuxes. Although not enforced it is now very much the 'done thing' this side of the pond.

It is much less common in the US and on Caribbean cruises.

Ps probably 3 formal nights on a 12 nighter.
