Tropical Storm Humberto

Recommended Posts

Just heard from Carnival that the ship is expected to go out and they are monitoring the storm. They hope for an update tonight or tomorrow morning. That's all folks, for now!

I’m on the Pride now and we’re supposed to go to Bermuda. They gave us a letter saying if we divert it’s going to Grand Turk and Amber cove. We will know shortly

Hope you can get to Bermuda.

Ill bet that was a sight to behold. Did you get any pics of the lightning storm?

I didn't.  Wish I had tried...lightning was good distance away, couldn't hear thunder.  But some of the strikes were massive.

I am sailing with someone who does not have a passport and is using his drivers license and birth certificate, which is fine for Bermuda. My question is if it gets diverted to Canada , what happens to him and anyone else who does not have the right paperwork?

you do not need a passport for Canada. your driver license and birth certificate is perfectly fine if the ship has to go to the canada and it returns back to the same port for debarkation. this is commonly a closed loop cruise.

the only issue with the birth certificate is IF they do the one way cruises like what Norwegian does from New York/Boston to Quebec. this is an open loop cruise

The hurricane forum is very informative. It's listed under categories.

There is a hurricane section? I don't see it.

That explains why Pride is heading south instead of east this morning

Yep,  Humberto's cone shows Bermuda on the southern edge, maybe reaching that area by Wednesday. But for the Pride to reach Bermuda, it would have to sail right through the storm.  Best to be safe.

Pride and Sunrise have both had changes as of today per John Heald.
