Sea day activities on a world cruise

We have been talking about it for awhile and we have finally done it ... we booked the 2022 world cruise! The itinerary could not be more perfect for us. At this point, I have more Regent cruises booked than I have kids so it looks like I’m rather well set for the next few years!

 

Our first experience was just fabulous (obviously) but it was a very port intensive and busy 22 days so we don’t know what to expect from an itinerary with lots of sea days. We were usually back in time to thoroughly enjoy trivia and the daily Mensa! Evenings are perfect for us on Regent with a delectable dinner and a show or Ross at the piano. What, if any, activities are available earlier in the day?

The endless baggo doesn't interest me.  Pingpong is too strenuous when played seriously, and difficult when the ship is rocking. I'm hoping for some groups similar to the needlepoint group that was on Mariner when we did Miami-Lima several years back.  But not needlepoint!  Sketching, crochet/knitting perhaps.  Perhaps more special tours of the depths of the ship would be great.  Interesting lecturers tied to the locations we're at (our fave is Terry Breen, but she's a South America/Alaska specialist so it's probably unlikely.)  And yes, I play Mah Jongg and hope to find a foursome!

 

Ross did sensational music trivia on our Mariner SA trip--several a week, which was great.

 Isn’t Ross the best? When we spoke to him on the Explorer in April, he said he would see us back on the Explorer when we return in January 2020 for The Caribbean. Can’t wait!

Ah yes, he's definitely wonderful.  I don't hold out much hope of his doing the world cruises, but I can live in hope!

With all the activities on the ship, don't forget a watching movies, breakfast in bed, lunch on the your deck.  Still in your PJ's another movie and a light dinner in your room followed by a relaxing bath before another movie and before bedtime.
