Anyone booked on a Spring through Fall 2020 Europe cruise? You could pick up an airfare credit (along with the current 3 for Free promo) during this three day promo coming up.  Of course it's nonrefundable deposit, so if interested could ask what the fare would be for refundable deposit.

72 Hour Europe Sale 9/17 – 9/19

When your clients book select Europe cruises from September 17 through September 19, they’ll receive a $200 air credit per person, PLUS FREE gratuities, a FREE stateroom location upgrade and FREE onboard spending money for all guests in a stateroom!

Disclaimer

†$200 off Airfare is on select voyages to Europe and per person and based on voyage length. Offer is applicable to all guests in a stateroom (up to 4). Air Credit may be used on flights to and from the ship only, and is not redeemable for cash or Onboard Spending Money.

††FREE Gratuities are based on the pre-payment, by Princess Cruises, on behalf of the guest for the suggested gratuities in the U.S. dollar amounts of $14.50 per guest per day for Interior, Oceanview, and Balcony staterooms, $15.50 per guest per day for Mini-suite and Club Class staterooms and $16.50 per guest per day for Suites. This amount is paid on the behalf of all guests (up to 4) in a stateroom only. Free gratuities do not include gratuities added to bar charges, dining room wine accounts or Lotus Spa services. Gratuities are not transferable, nonrefundable, have no cash value and may not be combinable with other select offers or other onboard credit.

‡FREE Stateroom Location Upgrade applies to booking the stateroom location you wish to sail in for the price of the lowest category within that stateroom type (Interior to Interior, Oceanview to Oceanview, Balcony to Balcony). Upgrade offer excludes select categories, including, but not limited to, premium categories and suites. Offer does not apply to the land portion of a cruisetour.

‡‡FREE Onboard Spending Money up to $800 offer is applicable to all guests (up to 4) in a stateroom. Guests with single occupancy will receive double the per guest credit amount. Spending money may be used on a single voyage only, is not redeemable for cash, and cannot be used in the casino and expires at the end of that voyage.

Well that creates some thought for me.  There is one have my eye on but was going to do future cruise deposit on next week's cruise then book under 3 for free.  Airfare credit might prove useful.  But the non refundable deposit is not appealing.

With the current 3FF, there is a refundable option.  I would guess that that may be the case with the 72 hour sale as well. I will definitely be checking because my sailing is on the voyage list.

Since it's part of the 3 for Free promo, they will most likely offer an option to do refundable deposit. Your fare could go up a bit. You would just need to book on the phone (vs. online) and ask for refundable deposit.

Does anyone know - the small print that says "Credit may be used on flights to and from the ship only," does that mean you have to fly in on the day of embarkation, or just that you can't make a stop in another city prior to going to your embarkation city? If we wanted to fly in a couple of days before, would that be allowed? Thanks in advance!

These deposits on account a year in advance are annoying.  Anything can happen before then.  Maybe six months before can see having restrictions.  Certainly airfare credit has my attention

We're flying into Heathrow a couple days before our cruise, so hopefully they will allow for that. We'll also be using their airport-ship transfer on embarkation day, so hopefully that's a plus in our favor as well.

I just put a deposit down for one of the cruises listed. This will be our first cruise on Princess, so I’m not familiar with their policies. Can I get in on this promo, or am I out of luck? We got prepaid grats and 150 OBC on this booking, but the airfare credit sounds nice. TIA

You will have to call Princess to get it clarified. They may require you to use their pre/post hotel package---this was my case in the past

Sometimes we refare a Princess cruise 3+ times before we sail. It just depends on the "bottom line" economics. However, I'm not sure if you can refare a cruise that was booked with a nonrefundable deposit without having to give up the nonrefundable part of the deposit first. I know on HAL cruises you can't.

Ok we did do a non refundable deposit, and I don’t even see the overnight in Dublin as an option anymore, so we will stick to what we have. Thanks for your  help!

I'm assuming you booked with 3 For Free promo (within the last 11 days since it started on the 4th). If you booked with nonrefundable deposit, I would love to know whether a refare is allowed or not since these NRFD's are a new (and very annoying) thing with Princess. I have a 2020 cruise that I just refared with 3FF but paid a bit more fare to have refundable deposit ($25pp). Does anyone know if she would be able to refare with a nonrefundable deposit?

Thank you for the heads up. We just updated our booking  last week to add 3 for 3 on our mini-suite. Our fare went down by about $400 and we were able to get $600 in OBC and our tips for the room covered.  We were able to keep our booking with the deposit being refundable. For our inside, it wasn't worth adding the promo. I just sent off an email to our TA to check on the airfare credit promo.

I would contact your TA/Princess to at least find out what "the rules" are for this 3 day promotion as it relates to your nonrefundable deposit, just so you know.

Just a rule of thumb, never take a CC person's opinion as gospel, especially when it comes to saving money.

yes, make the call. As we are all finding out, people and their bookings are not being treated equally. The terms/conditions, non refundable deposits can differ from one sale or cabin category to another. Worth calling.
