There is a little notification but there is no sound (ie. like bell or the sound you hear on your phone or iPad) to let you know they messaged you so you need to check.

It did not in July!  I wish they would add this as a feature.  Would be much much more useful on ship.

Ours showed a red dot to indicate a message.  I can’t imagine  if they started making it a sound alert how many you’d hear going off!   Basically you have to be diligent to check for messages if you’re expecting one.

I'm with canadianbear!  No audible alerts....Please!!!   It's like the idea of people being able to have cell phone calls on an airplane (heaven forbid)...I think I would go crazy listening to all the alerts and people yakking!!!

I agree, no audible alert 🔇 but a VIBRATION  would be nice.

Please, no audible. I like HamOp’s idea - but make it optional.
