jimcald Posted April 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hello All, We just got back from the Elation (review to come soon) so if anyone has any questions I can try to answer them while everything is still fresh in my mind. We had a great time and really there were only one or two negatives in the whole cruise and they were very minor (to us). I will hopefully get a chance to write a proper review in the next couple of days. The only excursion we did was the cave tubing in Belize (through X-Stream and we loved it). Jim... airdale Posted April 20, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Did you notice if there was a scale in the spa area? What freebies were you able to obtain? Or did you try? Did the week go by too quickly? Thanks for your information. I will have to read your review AFTER we get back home because THIS SUNDAY is our turn. Hot dog! I will of course write a review after returning. I don't think my review before departure would be very informative? LOL Until the Elation sails ! JJS2K3 Posted April 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2004 How was the weather? Does the ship sway a whole lot? Could you look up the price of the Dzibilchaltun tour? Any ideas on a good, quiet spot for a couple to chill out away from the crowds? Appreciate it, glad you had a good time. Elation!

You can also follow this deck forward and you will come to a stairway (ladderway on a ship ) that will take you up to another small deck then you can go up again to a deck above the bridge. I saw very few people out on these decks at any time day or night. Jim... FlorenceItaly Posted April 20, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Hi Jim - Welcome Home!! I am not sure if you can answer my ? or not, but maybe someone on the thread will know, if not. I am considering a last minute RCI, Rhapsody of the Seas cruise. Yes, I know this is the Carnival board, LOL. It appears I would be flying into Houston Hobby. Long story short, is IAH is not an option. What are my reasonably priced transportation options to the pier??? Flying in a day early is not an option as we have a graduation committment the day before the cruise would be leaving. Thank you in advance for your help. jimcald Posted April 20, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted April 20, 2004 Carnivals xfers are $66pp round trip so maybe RCCL is close to that. I think that Galveston Limo might be even cheaper. JenandBuddy Posted April 21, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 21, 2004 Is that Limo price per carload (family of 4) or per person? I still need to finalize my transportation to our prestay. I think I have decided to change from the Galvez to the Hilton. rez1 Posted April 22, 2004 #24 Share Posted April 22, 2004 Hi, Our 1st and trial cruise. We have a 2 1/2 older with us. Ports are Progresso, Cozumel and Belize. As far as excursions go, can anyone please suggest what's going to be suitable to take the young one along? So far I have the natural zoo trip in Belize. Also, where do I buy the excursions from (for less)? I have read many suggestions not to buy them from the cruise line, since they cost quite a bit more.... janetwilson Posted April 22, 2004 #25 Share Posted April 22, 2004 As soon as you get off the tender in Belize you will be bombarded w/people trying to take you on an excursion. Our tablemates did the Belize zoo and said it was not very good. The locals wanted $25 pp to take my family of 4 to the zoo and that didn't include entry into the zoo. After talking to our tablemates we were glad we didn't waste our money. We started talking to someone in one of the shops there and she said that on cruise ship days you can't just catch a cab and go to the zoo, but on any other day it's an inexpensive cab ride.
