Veendam 082 or 232?

Looking at the Veendam - cabins 082 or 232 Vista Suite with larger balcony.

Any difference between them? Is Navigation Deck preferred? 

Any experience with these cabins and opinions would be appreciated. Thank you

We stayed in 232 a couple of years ago and loved it!  The balcony is very nice and we enjoyed sitting out on it on our Canada/New England cruise.  And, the plus was, we got in our steps every day!

Thank you janmitch. Is 232 balcony completely shaded or does it get sun?

Anything else you especially liked or dislike about the cabin or location?

The balcony is completely covered by the deck above.  Whether it’s shaded or not depends on the time of day and direction.  We liked it because it was quiet and had great views over the wake.  It did mean some long walks to the front elevators as we headed up to the Crow’s Nest!

 

it looks like you’re new to Cruise Critic, so I’d suggest you just keep exploring on this site.  There’s also a great site strictly about HAL.  I don’t think I’m allowed to include it here, but if you google Veendam cabin 232, you’ll get a link to that wonderful site that has photos of lots of HAL cabins.  There are some great pictures of 232 on it.  The site is all about the “facts” of HAL.  😊. I would prefer Veranda Deck over Navigation Deck. On Navigation you would be directly under the Lido deck. People move chairs, mainly by dragging them, up there, creating possibly disturbing noise. Veranda Deck has a buffer between the cabin and the noise.
