Tender in St Kitts

I am on a HAL cruise in November, which stops in St Kitts. My cruise docs state that it is a tender port. The information I’ve read show the new cruise terminal with docking for 2 ships. Since there will only be 2 ships in port that day, do you think this is a mistake?  HAL has redone their web site, and I am hoping this is just an error that they haven’t corrected.

The pier in St Kitts at Port Zante, will take two large cruise ships and the new additional pier, if completed,  will also take two large ships and the deep water harbor( the commercial harbor) will take 1 ship if available.

If you are on the Koningsdam and arriving in St Kitts on November 20th, there is only one other ship in port. The port load is only 5284 passengers that day. I would not be concerned about tendering to pier.

St Kitts and Nevis (WINN): The Federation’s Second Cruise Pier is on track to be completed by next week, the minister responsible for Ports, Ian Liburd has confirmed to WINN FM.

However he has indicated that a formal opening ceremony is likely to come later in either October or November.

 

The minister spoke to WINN FM about the status of the new pier on Wednesday (September 18).

 

The new pier was expected to cost 48 million US dollars.

However cost overruns of US$7 million dollars are likely to see that figure rise further.

That matter is currently the subject of arbitration.
