Group Slot Pull Winnings

This tread has taken on a whole new subject...

I am still a little confused by Casino Comp Chick's tickets, collection and distribution but until I am on a cruise with her, it really doesn't matter.

I think more work goes into a Cabin Crawl than a Slot Pull but that is just my opinion. Others may agree or disagree with me. I won't be hurt either way

For those worried about your "points" during a slot pull, couldn't you just use your card?

My answer to the OP for the original question.

The most I won on a slot pull was $9 or $12 and we opted (as a group) to let it ride and we all took a couple more spins and split which came out to about $22 per person

I've run a few slot pulls, and try not to make a meal out of it.  I give everyone who's paid one of those 50/50 tickets.  You have to present the "ticket" portion to pull, then after all is said and done, you have to present the "keep this coupon" to redeem any winnings.  My rules up front -- no ticket no laundry.  If you don't present the "keep this coupon"   at the end of the event, it goes into my wine fund.  I'm not going to chase you down to pay you off.

P.S.  I did have one person who couldn't find his "keep this coupon" to collect, and it was so sad, too bad.  😮🍷

I dont think you are being accurate, or you dont understand how slot points are earned. It doesn't matter how much you put in or lose. Just how often you pull the lever.

Every positive return refills your kitty and allows you to keep spinning.

Am I wrong?

Sounds logical and reasonable to me.  I avoid the casino since they quit giving me M rewards drinks every cruise.  Seems unfair of them since I earned my status by cruising and not gambling!😂

You get a tier point for every 5.00 the machine tally's, I am aware you can theoretically pull a five out of your wallet and play all night. But I think we both know, especially on cruise ship casino's, that ain't happening very often.

Well, she did say "play thru" which equates to in and out. In your case after 15 cruises per year....you are spending about 850.00 per voyage. That is a chunk of change...and if the majority of those cruises are 3-4 nights...even bigger per night chunk of change. So I guess it all boils down to how many cruises Casino Comp does per year. If she is holding 15 slot pulls per year on Royal....maybe she gets a free inside cabin lol....with all the stress and risk involved being the organizer...I would say (under this scenario) she deserves a inside cabin...…I assume the casino hosts love her.....

Except to say I sailed last in March (1 cruise in 2019-2020 period) and am not sailing until next March & October(2 cruises in 2020-2021 period). So no those points are not making or breaking me.

They do understand what play thru is, that is their first sentence “Well, she did say "play thru" which equates to in and out.”

Instead of butchering people’s names I collect cabin numbers and issue numbered tickets for that sailing. When they pay their money, I issue a numbered ticket I have already associated with their name/cabin number. At the slot pull I will call numbers off of the ticket.  I call up #’s 1-10...around #7 I tell #’s 20-30 to start getting ready (i.e. come up front). It moves the slot pull along a lot faster. Plus it lets people know about how long their wait will be. At the end of the pull as I am paying people it’s easier to look for a # to cross off then a name. (You get lots of Johns and Maria’s).

It is just way more efficient to run it that way. I have everyone out of there super quickly and when I have leftovers (from people leaving) I just call their cabin later and make arrangements to meet up with them to pay them.

Here is a copy of last March’s tickets so you get a better idea. I change them every sailing so people can not duplicate that current sailings tickets.

Yes,  you can't play all night on $5, but you dont need to actually lose $750 to earn 150 points

You come across like one of those people who organize shore excursions so they can go free or get a kickback from the operator.

Haha I only do slot pulls because I love the casino. I book all my excursions through the cruise line  for peace of mind but thanks for your input.

I'm not going to disagree with you John. In the faceless world of a computer chat room, your comment  is also how I perceived this poster to be.

I hope to meet her someday (just not at a slot pull 😲). Will probably find out that the perception is all wrong. Probably a very intelligent, definitely organized, but funny, warm, and welcoming person.

I enjoy CC slot pulls because they are my chance to play slots, otherwise I only play video poker and table games.

I like the people meeting part of the slot pull and do not begrudge the organizer the points.  After all any of us

could set up a slot pull if we wanted the points.

My DEAL is the rules or lack there of.  I usually am happy with a 30% loss because if I played alone it would be more.

I do not like it when a couple of people decide that all the money should be drained to zero in hopes of hitting the big one.

It is OK with me if they are nuts ( as in believing they will hit the big one) with their money but not with mine.  I signed up to run the money through once, even it out and pay out.  Of course the 2-3 people that wanted to drain the machine lost it all and others were not able to stop them to get their $$$ (about 75%) of the buy in with out a giant scene.  About 40 people were involved.

I have also been in poker runs where people cheated (swapped cards )for big $$.

All of that said,  on my last slot pull, a poster on this board, ran a good pull and did at least gave everyone in the

pull a vote about playing a second round.  Although one round was enough for me, this was at least fair I just wish I had known in advance..

In that case casinos gave us all $10 slot play so it was not so bad.

Cruzgirl I hope I’m on a sailing with you someday I love the casino too.  If ever, I would be more than happy to give you my WHOPPING 3 points for my 15 entry fee as I am sure most others would too!

I’m sad to see some of the comments directed to you.

I join the slot pulls to have fun and am grateful for anybody who organizes them and if they use their card for points that’s okay by me. The same would go for excursions arranged by others.  Anybody who follows a large groups roll call can see the amount of time and effort that goes into to private group tours, just the tracking alone would make me pull my hairs out. I don’t join these typically but if I did and the organizer got a free excursion again,  great for them!

I have arranged many slot pulls, the last one was just two weeks ago on the Allure (we each won $22).  I always use playing cards to keep track of players and so we know who is up next to spin, my wife keeps track of the players names and cabin numbers.   Everyone always seem to have a great time, and many got over their fear of just being in the casino.  When you have close to 100 people cheering for you, you can't help but feel special when you spin.  On a side note, I always keep my card in for the slot pull and the casino manager is just happy that I bring so many people into the casino.  The slot pull is a win win situation for everyone and lots of fun.

Actually I am Casino comp chick, cruzgirl is someone else. But thank you for saying that. Honestly I don’t see why people have such an issue with it considering I never had a problem with the organizer getting any points in all the slot pulls I was only a member of. It is time consuming, it’s work and of course people should be compensated for it.

On a side note from all the pulls I have run myself one of the comments I hear the most was this was the best they have ever done...so that speaks for itself....If they attend one of mine and had a problem then I would address it right then & there, random whining/swipes at me by random posters on here are just irrelevant. If people have nothing better to do then to whine about it, just don’t play or run your own.....it can’t get any simpler then that.

Just like you, I also wouldn’t care if someone got a discount/freebie from an excursion for arranging it but as I said I only book through the cruise line...just in case.

That would be great if we ever crossed paths in the future.

Exactly this.

I actually laughed at the comments & the posting of the rules (on the Royal site and Vegas) when the reality is so much different. You can tell immediately who is a player and who is not.
