lolaletu Posted September 21, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2019 Hi everyone: we are going on the Magic on 9/28/19 - this is only our 2nd time on Carnival - we live in Florida so we have cruised a lot (just not on Carnival). I just really wanted to confirm something. My husband and I do not drink alcohol (but we do drink non-alcoholic beer). We were told by Carnival that we can bring a 12 pack of non-alcoholic beer if its 12 oz. and in a can. Can someone confirm that for me. Thanks for your help. And a tip. When you get settled in, your steward may come by & introduce himself to you. When he does you can request a bucket of ice in you stateroom. You can always have a cold soda when ever you want.
Purvis1231 Posted September 21, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2019 I doubt that non-alcohol beer will allowed. In Florida I have noticed folks having to show ID to buy non-alcoholic beer so it appears it is treated like beer and not soda.
jkneern Posted September 21, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2019 I don't think so? but if you asked I'm not going to say you can't. That would surprise me.
Rare Eli_6 Posted September 21, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2019 I would print out the beverage policy and bring it with me along with the beer in case they give you a hard time. You may need to show them it is non-alcoholic if you are also carrying on your wine or champagne, but if it says non-alcoholic on the container or box, I am sure it will be fine. canes20 Posted September 21, 2019 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2019 non-alcoholic beer does actually still have a small percentage of alcohol. It happens in the brewing process. If they said you could bring it, who knows what will happen at the port.
Kreeb Posted September 22, 2019 #9 Share Posted September 22, 2019 From Carnival's Website: Bringing Liquor and Beverages On Board - Embarkation Guests are prohibited from bringing water, sodas and other non-alcoholic beverages that are packaged in glass or plastic bottles. On embarkation day, a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages (i.e., sparkling water, sodas, energy drinks, juice, and milk), packaged in cans or cartons, may be brought on board and must be in the guest's carry-on luggage. A small quantity is considered a maximum of 12 sealed, unopened cans/cartons of 12 ounces each or less, per person. Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages on board with the following exception - at the beginning of the cruise during embarkation day only, guests (21 years of age and older) may bring one 750 ml bottle of sealed/unopened wine or champagne, per person, in their carry-on luggage. Outside this exception, all liquor, beer, other forms of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited in both carry-on and checked luggage and such items will be confiscated and discarded and no compensation will be provided. Guests sailing with us on back-to-back cruises are entitled to bring the same quantity as stated in this policy, per cruise. The additional quantities will be stored for safekeeping at the start of the first cruise and will be given to the guest as each following cruise begins. Corkage Fee Should guests wish to consume their wine or champagne in the main dining room, specialty restaurant or bar, a $15.00 USD corkage fee, per 750 ml bottle, will be charged. A corkage fee is a charge that is assessed, at time of service, for every bottle that is served and not bought on the premises. Bottled Water For convenience, guests can purchase purified bottled water prior to the cruise and it will be delivered to the stateroom on embarkation day. Bottled water may also be purchased on board by contacting room service. Once on board, the purchase is non-refundable and guests may take home any unopened bottles.
