We will be boarding Oct 1st! We too have a Sky suite 6115. Would like to read your observation of the ship overall. First time on this class of ship through X. We are Elite and love sailing X but just a little concern about this class of ship. It was all about the itinerary that drew us in. Cheers! I can’t say a negative thing about our experience so far! Is there anything in particular you’d like to know?
Rare countess5 Posted September 24, 2019 #27 Share Posted September 24, 2019 This may be a little crazy, but would you ask the maitre d in Luminae if he could find out when chefs table will be on the Oct 1st sailing? I have a group of people that would like to attend. Thanks in advance!

We are also sailing Connie on October 1st in S1 6132. Have done chef's table twice before and it’s wonderful. We are interested in doing it again on this sailing. They usually have it in a private room off one of the specialty restaurants. On S class ships it’s in Murano's but not sure where they have it on M class ships. Just looked at website for our sailing and they have chef's table at Tuscon Grill $139 pp.
LkGcruiser Posted September 24, 2019 #31 Share Posted September 24, 2019 Love that you’re taking time to post from vacation. Would like to know if you are planning to give an extra cash tip to the butler, cabin steward, waiters etc... and if so will you give US dollars or EU's? Anyone else reading please chime in. We always leave a little extra for those that give truly exceptional service as I know that don’t make a lot but perplexed as to what currency to use as this is our first visit to Europe. We have sailed Europe many times and pay extra tips in US dollars since that is what we carry onboard. Ships use the US currency even in the ATM. The ship makes change of currency for the crew at no cost to them is what I have been told.

It’s my first trip to Europe too. I will give extra and it will be in dollars unless I have a ton of Euros left and nothing to do with them lol 9 hours ago, countess5 said: I am not sure where they hold it, I just thought that the maitre d would be able to reach out and find what night it will be held. 9 hours ago, countess5 said: I am not sure where they hold it, I just thought that the maitre d would be able to reach out and find what night it will be held. rjgdjg Posted September 24, 2019 #39 Share Posted September 24, 2019 I have a few questions. We've only done Caribbean cruises and are thinking about one in Europe. Do the American ships such as Celebrity have the same food when they sail in Europe as they do in the Caribbean? And what would you say is the ratio of Americans to Europeans onboard your trip? Thanks! - Musing About Cruising
cruisecatmama Posted September 24, 2019 #40 Share Posted September 24, 2019 Looking forward to the rest of your review! We are on the Constellation next month (10/30) from Barcelona to Venice then Venice to Rome. Can't wait to hear about your ports of call!

I have found in my encounters on the ship it is about a third American, a third Canadian and a third European on the ship right now. Most people I’ve met are English speaking. I’m just guessing that the food is typical of other sailings. I do not think (but I’m eating in Luminae exclusively) that it is a “European” menu. I’ve walked through the buffet and have seen many different cuisines even an “Asian breakfast station” I just haven’t dined there.

Northern Aurora Posted September 24, 2019 #44 Share Posted September 24, 2019 I also am following. We board the Constellation on October 1st to start a B2B2B series, and will leave the ship in Barcelona -- which is one of my favorite cities. So looking forward to our time on the ship. Tommy3putts Posted September 24, 2019 #47 Share Posted September 24, 2019 We just got off the Constellation on the cruise preceding yours (September 22 in Barcelona—10nt from Venice). It was our first cruise on a Millennium class ship. Let’s just say it wont be our last. We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise, one of the best ever. I may do a review of our cruise in a few days. I hope your voyage is as good as ours was. Cheers Tom W
