Stadleter Posted September 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 23, 2019 Hi guys, I need your input as i am a first time cruiser on what to do. So basically this is the situation. I booked an inside Bella room on MSC Bellisima since we were booking 3-4 weeks ago, prices were insane and room availability was low. 2 weeks ago, I received the cruise cards and to my surprise it stated that we were upgraded to Balcony exp. Aurea, deck 13. Yesterday, while browsing various forums and Trip advisors, I found out that the room I am in is a dual family room, connected via door to another room (which we don't mind) but the problem is that the room in question is for kids, and does not have a normal fixed bed, rather a sofa that turns into bed which by default is smaller than normal bed and less comfortable. So instead of a normal bed in an inside cabine that looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/ZMcXTgf Me and my wife are getting this: https://ibb.co/9sc26Bd Does not look very comfy, does it? To be honest, balcony is nice but we have 7 days of cruise and we have only one sea day, and 5 port days, so I need a normal bed, and would rather have a normal bed on a inside cabine, then a sofa on a balcony cabine. Should I complain to my agency, or should I wait until I board the ship and complain then ? Thx for the replies

Change now as you will not be able to change once on the ship as they will tell you there is nothing else available. Good luck.
Até Posted September 23, 2019 #3 Share Posted September 23, 2019 What cabin number? Two people in the cabin? As far as I know all Aurea balconies have a regular bed like in the first picture, some also have the additional couch bed like in your second picture. Stadleter Posted September 23, 2019 Author #4 Share Posted September 23, 2019 Cabin number 13212. I checked on MSC deck 13 plan it says adjoining room, and sofa http://m.msccruises.com/en-gl/Mobile/Discover-MSC/Cruise-Ships/MSC-Bellissima/Deckplan.aspx
Zephyr173 Posted September 23, 2019 #5 Share Posted September 23, 2019 I agree with Ate. The pullout bed I for extra accommodation. The “main” bed in your stateroom is actually 2 double beds joined together. You may ask your room steward to either join them (almost queen, with night tables on each side), or separate them (divorce configuration, with night tables in between). If you look at the bottom of the same deck plan you reference: • All cabins have one double bed convertible to two single beds except for Interior Studio. Boschmann Posted September 23, 2019 #7 Share Posted September 23, 2019 It definitely has a full size, normal separable bed. I'm pretty sure the second bed is one of those sofas that folds out sideways for only one person rather than the full pull out or up version that sleeps two. It sounds to me like there are only two in the cabin so no problem.
Stadleter Posted September 24, 2019 Author #8 Share Posted September 24, 2019 Thx for your fast help guys. This was the post on TA that scared me beacuse it had all the signs of my cabin 🙂 https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g1-d15691630-r692398634-MSC_Bellissima-World.html
Até Posted September 24, 2019 #9 Share Posted September 24, 2019 The picture from that TripAdvisor poster, who was on Meraviglia, is of the studio cabin section of a super family cabin. The poster didn't provide a cabin number, but If MSC really put two people who booked an ocean view guarantee into that cabin they really went too far. I find it a little hard to believe the poster wouldn't realize this was for a single, there is no balcony nor ocean view in that cabin. Then again I have personally experienced MSC over selling a ship. It would be kind of funny if nobody realized they were supposed to be in the adjoining Fantastica balcony that went unused. This one would be much more reliable, I think. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Discover-MSC/Cruise-Ships/MSC-Bellissima/Staterooms-And-Suites.aspx

Stadleter Posted October 30, 2019 Author #14 Share Posted October 30, 2019 Just to replay, room 13212 is a normal balcony room, with a sofa. Will upload pictures. Overall it was a great cruise, the ship is excellent, and the termal and spa area is beyond words. Would book MSC again.
