Kiwi_cruiser Posted September 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2019 We have never been to Port Elizabeth, South Africa before. I was wondering would you recommend doing here for the day?? For those who have been to Port Elizabeth before, what things did you do there for the day?? Also does the cruise ships dock near the town? or do we dock a long way from it? Any ideas / suggestions are welcome 🙂 PS: We thought about doing a safari from here, but I don't think we will have enough time in port to do one. John Bull Posted September 30, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 30, 2019 Google Addo Elephant Park. There's a lot more than elephants. If you have a full day in port you will have time. Either rent a car and self- drive or book a car + driver. JB

Kiwi_cruiser Posted January 15, 2020 Author #5 Share Posted January 15, 2020 I just wanted to post an update from our cruise and share some photos from our first Safari: On 22nd November 2019 we were in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and we did our first Safari. It was really good. We saw Zebra, Elephants, Giraffe, Rhinos, Lions with a fresh kill, Warthogs plus lots of Springboks to name a few…. It was a good day! The game reserve ask us if we want to post photos of the Rhinos on social media, not to name them, as then poachers, will know that they got rhinos and go and try and poach them! The BarCarres Posted January 15, 2020 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2020 Glorious pictures!!!! We are leaving in 3 weeks for South Africa. Did you book through the cruiseline, another tour operator or self drive? We are debating a cruise excursion or viator Thanks for sharing your pictures. Joanne We ended up booking thought the cruise line (Cunard) as we found the prices between private tours operator v cruise line, where near the same and if we did a private tour we would have missed the ship, as none of the private tours I looked at would have got us back to the ship on time.
