beamqueen Posted October 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2019 Any recommendations for Nassau with a 2 year old? (2.5) I’m anxious about transportation and if she would need a car seat. What have others done that worked well??

There are a few posted on the Trip Advisor page. There is a small zoo nearby, that might be of interest. Otherwise, bring some beach toys and walk to Junkanoo beach. Rare Tapi Posted October 8, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2019 (edited) Our son’s first cruise (at 13 months of age) stopped in Nassau. We did not bring a car seat, and didn’t need one either. We booked a semi-sub excursion and we were met right at the welcome center. From there, we had a short walk to the boat that took us to our awaiting semi-sub. After the excursion, we browsed the streets of downtown Nassau for a bit using an umbrella stroller (the only “bulky” item that we brought). On subsequent cruises to Nassau, we’ve taken the water taxi to the Atlantis / Paradise Island and a car seat wasn’t needed for those activities either. We’ve cruised with our kids several times while they were still toddlers (Western Caribbean, Alaska, and short Bahamas cruises), and we’ve never taken a car seat for any of them. Either we can find transportation that doesn’t require them, or our activities are within walking distance. And in some places, taxis and shuttles don’t even have seatbelts or anchors which would deem a car seat useless. BNBR Posted October 11, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2019 Blue Lagoon is perfect for that age. They have a ferry from the cruise port so no cabs or anything. The lagoon is shallow and protected as well, so the water is great for a 2 year old.
