How to follow a member?

One of the types of activity streams offered  is to view streams of members we are following. But I can't figure out how to indicate that I'm following a member. I've tried looking at the profile for a particular member to see there's something there I can click on to follow that person. But no soap. Note that I'm trying this from a mobile device not a full desktop browser.

I used the Search feature and found the following on this forum:

I don't believe that the follow member feature is enabled.
