Norwegian Sun 9/30-10/5 - Our Fall Break Cruise

Time to get off the Ship!

 

This is the day I dread most about cruising.  I not only have to get off my floating oasis, I also have to drive back home.  Life is just not fair!

 

Here I am wondering how I can make this trip last just a little bit longer

She is the only one ready to get off the boat and wondering why it is taking so long to get to our color.

One of her favorite things to do is read the final statement as if she is going to put in on the payment.  She typically looks it over, says WOW!!!, and hands it back to me with a smile.

 

That smile says it all!

Today we hung out in our room a little longer than usual.  I like to get out of there so the attendant has the most amount of time possible to turn his rooms around.  However, we had the last check out color, so we were not in a big rush to make it to the buffet to stand around.

 

When we got to the buffet things were winding down and it was approx. 30 more minutes before our color was called.  We had a quick bite and then hung out at the aft of the ship until we were called. 

 

 

 

 

I use to want to be first off the ship.  Now I just by my time and let the masses roll on outta there before I get off.  Much less stressful.

Check out was pretty stress free but there was a little bit of confusion getting off.  They brought customs onto the ship and did the facial scan to exit.  There was suppose to be two separate lines for passports v/s others.  Somehow everyone ended up in the same line.  I liked this process better in Miami.  The checked you out in the terminal halls before you went into the luggage area.  It was more room for their setup so it moved much faster.

Not wanting vacation to end, we made a pit stop at Golf-N-Gator.  This was one of the places I scoped out when looking for things to do in Cocoa Beach before the cruise.  Since we went to Savannah first we never made it here.

We had a lot of fun on the course.  Here we are playing along with all the gimmicks the course had to offer.

 

I kept getting the short end of the spin.

Loved your review!  It's always a little bitter sweet when you're heading back home.  I hate that my vacation is over, but I always look forward to sleeping in my own bed at home.  

Thanks for all of your time and hard work that you put into this!  I'm reading your HAL review right now and I love how you are a family that just goes with the flow.  It really is about spending time with your loved ones!

Once we hit the greater Jacksonville area I was ready for a short stop.  Are you noticing a trend yet?  I like to break my trips up.  Gone are the days of marathon driving for me.  I get there when I get there.

My spot of choice was the neighborhood Costco!  Hey their pizza is good and that hotdog/drink combo is the cheapest you will find in America.  

 

Another reason we go there is to sample the free offerings.  As a kid I would go shopping every weekend with my grandmother and we would hit every store in town with our last stop at Sam's Club.  We would sample the foods and hit the food court.  This stuck in my head and I passed the tradition down to my kid.  We don't go every week though.

After this stop we were all set to make our way to South, GA.  We were going to spend the remainder of the day with our extended family from our college days.  We don't hook up often but when we do we pick up where we left off!

We ate, talked, and laughed until we passed out (not long at our age).  The little ones kept the party going well after we fell asleep.  I could not think of a better way to end this day!

Hello all from Beautiful PCB, FL.  Mama was not feeling another cruise so soon so we nabbed a condo on the beach for the week.  As I was here relaxing on the patio, I figured now would be a great time to wrap this thing up.

We had a great time catching up with our friends and were sad that it had to end so soon.  Before we left the little ones gave us a tour of the beginning stages of their farm.
