Forgot about the Discovery, what’s next after that, a whole new design I a assume

the two planned after Discovery are to be LNG fueled. upwards of 175K tonnes.

At the Captain's Circle reception on the Emerald Princess last week, the captain mentioned that the Sphere class ships will be after the Discovery Princess. I'm guessing that will be the name of the ship after the Discovery Princess.

Ships are not going to get smaller, only bigger for main line cruise lines.

It has already been announced, larger.

After reading the above article; it looks like Sky and Enchanted will be the last ships to use diesel engine power; the new ships will use liquefied natural gas engines

Thanks....but I didn't read the link.  It was just a rhetorical question.  I "knew" the answer.  Don't know what I will replace my cruising with.  Really enjoyed small ships from San Pedro.  "Those were the days..."

I had read alittle about the Excellence Class, something of this variant might be a logical progression for Princess.

Powered by LNG and a full promenade where two features that caught my attention.

AIDAnova and P&O Iona might easiest to query for more specifics.

Sphere Class 175,000 perfecto.  I cannot wait.  I love big ships.  More space, more people.  Fabulous!!!   More activities!   When exactly would Sphere Class be projected.

One point I noticed on the deck plan for the IONA   was 5200 pax and still only 3 banks of elevators

you would think on a big that big they would pout in four banks.....

 

Also Sphere Class     does that mean a bubble,  a world with in...... a large floating hotel ??
