Seward Alaska, Review of Major Marine and SeaLife Center

Here is a really short video on the SeaLife Center in Seward.  If you only have a few hours, this is a place I highly recommend.  If you plan to stay in Seward for a day or so, I would also recommend one of the Kenai Fjords tours.

Thanks for the video.  I did the Kenai Fjords cruise with a competitor and enjoyed my experience as you did yours.  My weather was better than yours.  Did have a brief shower, but really was insignificant.

Just be forewarned, we arrived in Seward and it was really storming. We had a 6 hour Kenai fiord cruise booked but because of the weather, rough seas and heavy rain, they gave us the option to cancel, which we did. So what else to do in Seward but head for the Sea life Center. I guess this was the only thing in town to do and the place was so mobbed that there was a line, in the rain, out the door. We have been to many such places, so we just decided it wasn't worth fighting all the crowds and we left. Talking to locals, when it does rain like that, the Sea Life Center absorbs everyone as there really isn't anything else to do there.

We were fortuante, there wasn't any line and the center was mostly empty, and we loved it.

Our experience was similar in mid-August.  Thanks for the review. We also enjoyed the SeaLife center.

My friend and I splurged and did the Puffin Encounter at the Alaska Sealife Center https://www.alaskasealife.org/puffinenc

 

You get to go into the aviary and hand feed puffins and other birds - pricey, but an amazing experience!
