Flights by celebrity sale

I tried two different times today to change my flights with celebrity for February cruise to new zealand and home from Australia.  The flight specialists could see the flights I wanted but due to computer glitches could not book them.  We tried several options but none worked.  They said they were working on the problem  but I should call back Monday.  The sale is for the weekend.  They said they would try to honor the prices once they resolved the problem.  I really wonder if it is true sale or gimick.  Prices are about $300 pp cheaper than they have been.  Anyone else have this problem today?

Can I ask what price you had?  We also are flying to NZ in Feb,

The prices shown were from Kansas City to Auckland NZand returning from Melbourne Aus, for $950- $965.  Several choices in that range on American airlines and returning on Qantas.  All included 2 stops each way or jumped up to $1800 or more for 1 stop.

Terrifish: Thanks for posting this thread.  I did not know about the sale but after seeing this, I booked flights for a Celebrity cruise departing next August.  The prices are the best I have  seen yet for my flights.

I've been using Flights by Celebrity for the last few cruises. Today the price  direct thru' Delta was $192 pp less than Flights by Celebrity for our May cruise in first class. Sorry to lose the perks of FBC, but money is money!

Question----What are the perks you mention?   I have used them in the past and have flights booked again for our December cruise but wasn't aware of perks.   Thanks.

Hi everyone,

Just took advantage of the sale and booked our flights for our cruise in April. I was wondering how and when you get emailed/notified about your flight confirmation. I didnt get any email yet nor did I see it in my cruise planner. Its our first time booking a flight through a cruise line and our first Celebrity cruise as well. Thanks in advance!

You couldn’t have received an email confirmation right away, and your flight information would would also be your cruise Planner user Manage My Reservation. If you haven’t received those, I would call and confirm. Also, ask if you can make seat selections right away. I asked, the Celebrity person told me they were making those choices for me, but they never went through, so I called the airline directly to make the seat selections.

  • I tried again today to book flights.  Two different people tried it .  On the phone about an hour each time. They still are waiting for IT to fix the glitch.  Celebrity IT never improves.  They told me to call back in 2 days but no sale then😒

Also want to say thank you.  Just booked Premium Economy for less than $300 from San Diego to RDU.  Cheaper than Southwest!

Curious as to which airline offers premium economy on a domestic US flight. ??    Are you sure it isn't one of the "economy plus" type products?  People often confuse those for actual premium economy but there is a world of difference in the two.  To my knowledge, true premium economy is generally only offered on long haul international flights.

FBC guarantees to get you to the ship if there is a problem with your flights.  There is flight delay/cancellation coverage for associated costs.

Just understand that it doesn't guarantee to get you to the ship at the initial port of embarkation.  It could mean playing catch up to the ship later in the itinerary.

Our booking is with Delta and you are correct, we use premium economy on our international flights when we don't fly business class.  Nonstop from San Diego to Atlanta then on to RDU.  In my opinion, premium economy is what business class use to be, larger seats, more leg room with support for the feet and free beverages with upgraded food service.  Will post again after this flight and let you know if it is truly what we are expecting or a lesser product.  Flying business to Buenos Aries and I sure hope it is a true business with the ability to sleep lying down!

For some reason I'm unable to quote your last comment, but if I'm understanding you correctly, you are under the impression that your SAN-ATL flight on Delta is in premium economy.  This is what I was getting at before- that flight will NOT be premium economy.  On Delta, there is no Premium Economy, or what Delta has branded as "Premium Select" on domestic flights.  You will be in Comfort+, which is absolutely not the same as true premium economy.  Comfort+ is simply a regular economy/coach seat with a little extra legroom and you can get alcoholic beverages at no extra charge.  The seat itself is exactly the same as any other coach seat...no wider, no noticeable difference in recline, no footrest, and certainly no upgraded food service.

Thank you Waterbug.  After reading your response I did further research and you are absolutely correct!  We requested Premium Economy on the ChoiceAir site.  Having just returned from Italy in Premium Economy we selected it.  Have now been to Delta's site and there is a difference; however, we were able to get exit row seats and I think we'll be okay.  Still have the option for Business class at $200 extra per seat.  Just wanted to say thanks again.  Expectations are definitely realigned.

Great, glad I was able to help clarify.  Now I'll try again-   when you refer to the option for business class, if you are again talking about your SAN-ATL flight, I don't believe there is business class offered by Delta on that route.  They do offer it on SOME transcontinental flights, but unless I'm mistaken, there are no flights in and out of San Diego that were added to that list.  What you will have the option for is domestic first class, definitely a big step up from economy or comfort+, but nowhere near as nice as business class, or what Delta brands as Delta One.  Occasionally you might luck out and be on a plane equipped with the business class seats, if it's a continuation of an international flight or if the aircraft is being repositioned, but the service will be equivalent to domestic first class.  If you tell me the flight date and time I can look at what Delta's offering and quickly tell you if that's the case.

If this was booked via the cruise line, sometimes that creates confusion because the same fare class offerings aren't available on all airlines on all routes so the cruise air site sometimes lumps things into a category where they don't technically belong.
