1/2 price drinks Red Frog Pub - embarkation day

We were on the Magic in March and there was happy hour on embarkation day and the drinks were 1/2 price.  I believe the happy hour lasted from 11:30-2:30.  Does this happen on all Carnival ships that have a Red Frog Pub?

On the Elation this week (Oct 14-18) Embarkation Day Happy Hour was at the Drama (Casino) Bar with half-price specialty drinks and $1 off craft beers from 1230 to 1430.

The two offerings at the Red Frog ("Red's Special") were $1 off a Beachcomber or a Red's Remedy on port days.

Other bars and lounges offered specials on certain drinks at specific times.

Yes, that was true on the Miracle when she sailed from Tampa. I’m hoping the same deal will be on the Legend when she arrives in Tampa.

When we were on the legend 2 weeks ago the pub wasn't open.... I was really looking forward to the happy hour! Hopefully it is for you!

Please keep us posted. I'm sailing on the Legend out of NYC next May.

Ships without the pub, Happy Hour at the casino bar, not at the Red Frog bar by the pool.  YMMV.

I'll board Sunshine on Saturday and I'm planning on heading straight to the pub.  Will report back but not until I'm home since I'm not buying an internet plan and have never gotten the phone app for these boards to work.

Just off the Sunrise.  Red Frog Pub happy hour on embarkation day and port days, 50% off.

Was going to mention this.  We were on Sunrise 10/6-10/13.  Half price drinks, fish bowls and pitchers from 1;30-3:30 on sea days.  Can't remember if it's posted in the Fun Times, but if you walk past the RFP they announce it on a blackboard.

John Heald posted a hilarious "walkies" video yesterday, featuring two VERY happy ladies who were drinking straight from pitchers they'd bought during the Happy Hour. Complete with a plastic straw, which he made sure to note wouldn't be available in the future. 🤣🤣

This is a FYI. There are 2 different drink menus for the Red Frog. One is for the Red Frog Bar which is usually by the pool. The other drink menu is for the Red Frog Pub which is where they usually have the Happy Hour on port days.

Bar:  https://www.carnival.com/~/media/Images/explore/onboard/bars/menus/redfrog-rum-bar-menu.pdf

Pub where my favorite drink is -

These 2 menu's are the same. Do you have the "PUB" menu?

I'll be on the Sunshine early next year. It will be my first cruise with Carnival. I'd be grateful for happy hour information or any other tidbits you can share. Have a great cruise!

Do they do it on trip out of Galveston?

Depends on the ship.  The Dream doesn't have the Red Frog Pub.  Only the Rum bar on the lido deck.  The casino should have specials though.

What is in the "Fish Bowl" and how much is it normally. I assume 1/2 off on embarkation day, correct.

It is a big, round wine glass sorta thing. Normally they cost $20 but are only $10 during happy hour. Well worth the $10 bucks. I got a pitcher instead of the fish bowl because they don't allow the fish bowls to leave the bar without a deposit. Actually I drank 2 and my husband bought  a case and 1/2 of beer for the week.

I dont see a Red Frog Pub on Vista (out of Galveston) either.

Vista most definitely has a Red Frog Pub.  It's the Red Frog Pub and Brewery.  It's on Deck 5, just forward of Ocean Plaza.

I'm not sure about Galveston but they did out of NY (similar rules for no Cheers on embarkation day).

I wish we had known about the 1/2 price deal earlier in the day.  By the time we knew there was only about 30 minutes left and the bar was packed.  It takes a while to make each drink (run out of mix or empty bottles and have to get more) so I understood it would be a little wait, but there was also a lady who was monopolizing the server demanding more and more bowls for her and her friends.  Each time they served someone else she would chime in about still waiting (while having one in front of her the whole time).  I gave up and I think several others never got served.  At least it saved me some drinking money and the Alchemy bar on Sunrise was very good.
