"We Choose to go to the Moon" - President John F. Kennedy

The Kennedy Space Center is a place were every American should go and visit. To see the history and achievement of mankind in the race for space and landing the first person on the moon was breath taking and impressive in every aspect. We did a Uber from the hotel to KSC Visitors Center $34.88 including tip which took is 23 minutes for 16 miles. After getting our tickets we proceeded through the gate and saw the Rocket Garden where we walked among the giants of NASA’s Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs.

We got a tip to go early which we did at 9am and go directly to the bus tour before it gets crowed and work your back. We seemed to get in line before the busses even came so we had a bit of a wait.

The tour gave us access to some of the restricted areas. We saw the Vehicle Assembly Building which we could not go in like I did when I was a kid .

"...The Eagle has Landed" - Neil Armstrong

We then went to the Apollo/Saturn V Center with a full Saturn V complete with capsule laying lengthwise in the building WOW!

We went to several presentations including being in a exact replica of the Apollo 8 Firing Room where we watched history unfold as the first crewed Saturn V missions blasted off into space. This was favorite part because I lived it.

After that was the Lunar Theater where we relived the final few minutes leading up to the first words ever spoken from the surface of the moon, “…the Eagle has landed.”

From there we headed to the massive Space Shuttle Atlantis Exhibit where we got a close up view of Atlantis.

NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL HAPPY HOUR

Right next to the terminal where we will board harmony are two great restaurants Fishlips and Grills. I choose Grills Seafood Deck and Tiki Bar mainly due  recommendations from @John&LaLa and others. This place was incredible.

Our view

So while we had happy hour cocktails we were treated to not one but three sailaways.

Norwegian Sun

Carnival Breeze with a nice blast from the horn for us

More cocktails in between, Grills Gone Bananas and Dragon's Point Punch

And finally last to leave port was Disney's Fantasia

And finally let's eat. Ever tried Shark Kabobs? They were amazing!!!!!

1674583411_GrillsSharkKabob.thumb.JPEG.3d771e2b8ea5999fbd55bcac15530785.JPEG

Some Seafood Fettuccine to clog the artery's (not a bad way to go in my opinion.)

After dinner we decided to walk next door to Terminal 1 and check out where we will arrive in the morning.

And here is Harmony's parking spot. In less than 24 hours we will be there.

Time for bed I don’t think I will sleep tonight.

Very envious of your Shark Kabobs at Grills. Those are the best.

My wife hates and will not eat seafood. I said you have to take a bite of this it does not taste like seafood it tastes like steak. She tried it and said "That is really good." Is was as they say, baby steps.

Let’s do some house cleaning first.

First point of note. I will post a bunch of photos with my newly purchased iPhone11 Pro Max to give you a idea of what kind of pics it takes.

This review will start pre cruise with preps and two nights in Port Canaveral. I will then post at least once a day on our life on board, ports of call, food, whiskey and our take on the key. I hope you will have fun and enjoy the ride and see some great photos and videos from my new iPhone 11 ProMax. ALL ABOARD!!

Amazing review so far Greg!  I have seen several of your posts prior to your cruise and happy to follow along!  The housekeeping rules were a great add 😉

I have the iPhone X which was a huge purchase, and I was quite happy with it, but I love photography and not sure I want to lug my heavy DSLR with me.  I was holding out for the iPhone 12, but the 11 Pro Max looks amazing.  Your photos are very crisp and clear.  I'll be interested to see the night time shots, which is where the X tends to fall behind.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to share your review and pics!

Was rock shrimp on the menu?

Yes it was I was tempted but had to try the shark. Plus I'm a seafood fettuccine freak so imagine my delight when the server said how about both, Seafood Fettuccini and one Kabob? "SOLD."

I have a great Nikon at home with several long lens. I almost brought it along but decided to go small with the iPhone. I do have my eyes on that Sony RX 100 VI that Twangster has it's a beautiful camera.

Great review - from a fellow Lee’s Summitian...is that a word?? Actually, we’re in Lake Winnebago - so close enough! And KMBC is my favorite - I grew up with Larry Moore doing the news, and now it’s good old Kris Ketz...

I do Public Affairs for the Red Cross, and you all have been great working with us over the years...I’ve been in your studio (the old one - not the “new” one yet!) doing numerous interviews over the years...so glad to help pay for the cruises!!

I haven’t cruised yet on the Harmony, so I’m reading as many reviews as I can - to see if I will like it. I love the Allure - so it has to be close, right??!! 🙂

I was so sad they were not available the day we were there last month.

Yes the server even said that they do not have them all the time and to take advantage of the fact that they had them.
