john_galt Posted October 25, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Deluxe Balcony are larger than Balcony. Premium Deluxe Balcony appears to be aft-facing.
Daniel A Posted October 25, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 25, 2019 The Premium Balconies are Deluxe Balconies on the Stern with views of the ship's wake. They are 'Premium' because the actual balconies are significantly larger than the balconies of Mini Suites, Deluxe Balcony Cabins and Balcony Cabins on the Port or Starboard sides of the ship. Wishing on a star Posted October 25, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 25, 2019 (edited) Balcony Deluxe cabins have a slightly larger cabin, with a small loveseat. Premium balconies have a larger-deeper balcony. You can book a regular balcony cabin with a larger balcony, or a Balcony Deluxe cabin with a larger balcony. These will be Aft facing, or on the bump-out mid-ship, or other areas where the logistics of the ship design makes the size of the balcony larger. An option might also be UN-obstructed balcony and UN-obstructed Deluxe balcony cabins on Deck 8 of the bump-out mid-ship. These obstructed cabins are listed under Interior cabins on the Princess website. Edited October 25, 2019 by Wishing on a star
40yearcruiser Posted October 25, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2019 We have twice stayed in a Deluxe Balcony Obstructed. The cabin is larger than a regular balcony and has a sofabed. The "obstruction" is that it is a bulkhead cabin on deck 8 so is more enclosed (think cove balcony on Carnival). However the balconies are much larger; we stayed in E110 and the balcony was about 3 times the size of a regular balcony. Since there were 3 of us it was perfect. jasbo49 Posted October 25, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2019 Premium is strictly about location. Some might have a bigger balcony too. Deluxe, regardless of location, is distinguished by having a loveseat. And they're a few square feet bigger interiors. Jim
PRINCESS Sweet Pea Posted October 26, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 26, 2019 It looks like, on the Regal, the actual 'Premium' category cabins are the Aft Wake-View cabins, which do have deeper balconies. There are some other balconies that look like they are bigger. Like the other ones mentioned. So, then, if somebody didn't want to pay for a Premium Aft Wake-view cabin, they could possibly find one of these other cabins that have a slightly larger balcony available. I have one of these booked for our upcoming cruise!
