European Summers

Just booked the Anthem for a France, Spain cruise leaving from Southampton.  I’m a Floridian and accustomed to the very hot summers.  How hot does it get in Europe during mid-July?  I’m hoping to get in a beach day or two.  

 

Also, are US dollars accepted?

At that time of year southern Spain is usually hot & sunny, and nowhere near as muggy as Florida.

Portugal depends on wind direction - on-shore winds (south-westerlies) are the norm & take the edge off the heat.

The further north you go the less-reliable the weather, but generally still warm & usually dry.

 

US dollars are no good in these countries.

Currency is the Euro, except in England which has the GB pound.

Visa & Mastercard credit cards are very widely used, but don't rely on acceptance of Amex or Diners Club.

We have had temps above 100 Fahrenheit in St Petersburg and also in the low 30s in Greece, both in July but different trips/years. The weather will be what it will be, that said, it is likely to be the hottest part of the year.
