Thats what were leaning toward. We're going to make it later & possibly carry luggage off. Thanks everyone. It was helpful.
bonvoyagie Posted November 2, 2019 #27 Share Posted November 2, 2019 We will be arriving on the GEM in Feb and have NCL transportation to the Newark Airport. Do they treat this like a tour where you meet somewhere on the ship and go off in a group? - do they pile your luggage in a different area? We are also in a suite and in the past have been escorted off the ship via one of the crew exits or via a separate line.
HowardK Posted November 2, 2019 #28 Share Posted November 2, 2019 By carrying my own luggage off- I had a few instances where I was off 7:45 it was very quick to get to the curb and made a 9:00am bus ; however getting off first involves getting up super early, a quick breakfast and waiting in line. I might experiment and just wait as late as possible next time or put my luggage out the night before and go in a medium group. From waiting to get on the ship; it seems those leaving from the prior week around 10:30 or so had it right in the sense that it was more leisurely disembarking. waterjock Posted November 3, 2019 #29 Share Posted November 3, 2019 Here is a tip I have been on the escape 5 times you can get off faster by getting on line at the aft of the ship exit line at the NYC pier. It is a shorter walk to the escalators down to customs.
ndame4nd Posted November 4, 2019 #30 Share Posted November 4, 2019 Just got off the escape yesterday in nyc. We opted for the 9:15 disembarkation. They called our color at 8:50 and we were off the ship and waiting for our van by 9:
