SA or SB...that is the question...

Have the option to get an SA or SB cabin on an upcoming Nieuw Statendam sailing in 2020. Debating between 7188/8186 or 7067/7075.

DW loves a nice balcony but wants to be sure it's private. Not where balcony is able to be seen from others or from above decks.

Any advice would be appreciated. Either would be our first Neptune class experience and any tips there would also be welcome.

I've had an aft Neptune and a side Neptune on the K. I don't know if the interior designs are the same, but on the K I would definitely go with the side Neptune. 7188 on the K had a shower that was smaller than a phone booth, and although there was a tub there was no shower over the tub. NS might be different, but I don't know about that.

Aft balconies are partially visible, but part of the balcony is covered so you aren't completely visible.

I prefer aft Neptunes, but after having one on the K, I chose to change to a side for my second cruise on that ship. They may have fixed the problem on the NS, but the K shimmied at the back in the slightest wind, and slammed onto the waves in a "following sea." Also, we had to sit on the bed to watch the TV in 7188. The side Neptune had chairs facing the TV.

HAL Facts has some pictures, not of those exact cabins, of some very similar cabins, ie, not 7188 but 7187 for example.

If you have no issues with walking, go for the aft.  Those wrap-around balconies are wonderful.

And they are private too? It looks like floor 8 would be entirely covered and 7 might be slightly open. Thoughts?
