Thank you to whoever cancelled 9256 on Radiance

We just booked the Radiance from Honolulu to Vancouver in May 2021 as the second leg of a B2B.  We had booked 9256 on first leg and very much wanted it on the second leg, so we booked as soon as we were able.  However "our" room was already taken.   Oh well!   We booked the aft balcony next to it, and the RCI rep we booked with asked if we would like to be put on a waitlist in case of a cancellation of 9256.  Well, yes!  Didn't expect anything to come of it but yesterday we got notification that 9256 was available!

I don't know who had that room, but if it is someone here, thank you!   I hope all is well for you.

So the waitlist worked?  I think this might be the first time I've seen a report that the waitlist actually worked.

I was thinking the same thing. First I heard it actually worked. Congratulations.

We did a 12 day Europe cruise on brilliance a few years ago, saw that they had a aft grand suite but it was booked so we booked another grand suite, but would keep on checking and eventually I saw it available and had no problem switching.

I've had the waitlist work before.  I put my uncle down on as a spare person on an Alaska cruise with my family because his wife was very ill.  I put a waitlist request for a balcony room in case he came (only on one of the two next door to my parents).

She passed away.  DURING HER FUNERAL the waitlist came available.  We took it.  He came with us (we only asked him later) and said it was the first time he felt comfortable since her death.  We believe she had a hand in it because no one ever has the waitlist work out!

It worked for me once...same cabin, same ship.  Wanted that cabin for our Alaska cruise a few years ago.  Put on wait list, and got the call 2 weeks later.

OP:  Enjoy that cabin...best on the ship!  🤗 And congrats!  We are on sister ship Serenade for that cabin B2B through the NZ fiords in 2021!  🙂

Thank you.

Very much looking forward to it!    Very large wrap around  balcony!
