I had not read the obituary published by Travel Weekly. Both of Mr. Arison's and Mr. Kruse's comments about what Kirk Lanterman has meant to Holland America Line are absolutely correct. Mr. Arison (and Carnival Corporation) provided the money needed to prevent HAL becoming an asterisk in maritime shipping history and Mr. Lanterman provided the wisdom and good decision making that allows us, today, to look forward to the arrival of the next edition of MS Ryndam in 2021.
