Upgrade to receive free at sea

If I'm booking Guarantee cabins, balconies are the way I go since I can then book the "take all" or just 2 FAS promos.  The sailaway cabins are typically the only cabins which include zero FAS promos.

So, the answer to the question is, yes, you'll be able to add the PBP, SDP, Shorex and Wifi packages. No idea of the price you'll pay but certainly worth a call to NCL.

Good luck

PS- This cannot be done with Upgrade Advantage offer. You need to call NCL and specify what you want. I'm guessing that's your intention but wanted to clarify.

Where do you see that?  Maybe it's ship-dependent?  I assure you that guarantee cabins on the Bliss get the FAS perk(s) as I booked a guarantee balcony and got the perks.

The SailAway rate, which will be listed as an option, does not include any Free At Sea choices, and your cabin will be assigned to you.

Other cabin categories IF, MB, BC etc (that are not SailAway) will sometimes move to Guarantee status (when they get close to selling out). That means that you will not get to choose your stateroom, but you will still get the free at sea choices that go along with it.

If you book something that has an X in the category = no free at sea choices

If you book anything else  = one or more free at sea choices (depending on category you have chosen and providing they have the free at sea promo running, which they usually do). It doesn't matter if, at the stateroom selection screen, it says GTY/Guarantee, as that is merely about NCL choosing your cabin location. (It has nothing to do with free at sea choices.)

When we sailed on Escape a few weeks ago, we were in a guarantee balcony and got all four free at sea perks.

The difference for us in the non-free-at-sea rate was $200 per person less. So it makes sense if the OP can upgrade for $280 pp... in fact that is a bit high compared to the rate we got.

I thought this is a good answer... people are reading over some of the most important parts though...

You need to check carefully = do your homework.

Typically = More often than not.

Free at Sea promotions are NEVER offered for Sailaway cabins.

Free at Sea are ALWAYS offered for cabins that have moved to Guarantee status (meaning a non-Sailaway price point).

Sail away are not free at sea eligible.  Ever.

If memory serves OX and BX are ineligible.

Lots of misinformation in this thread.  Categories go to guarantee status on nearly every sailing as the categories fill up.  It is not rare or unique in any way.   Sometimes it will only last a short time before the categories changes to unavailable, sometimes it will last for weeks.  Under those rates, which are not Sail Away rates, they always come with the corresponding perks.

Great! So now you know exactly what "free" costs: $280 + gratuities on the drinks + gratuities on the dining. Times two.

Happy Sailing!

I learned today that the things are diferent when buying the cruise in diferent countries. FoR instance in Europe: "Terms and Conditions:Offer is applicable to all categories including IX, OX, BX and MX (Sail Away Categories)." and 20% gratuities on the retail value of the Premium Beverage Package ($19.80 USD per person per day) and/or Soda Package ($1.59 USD per person per day) are included. https://www.ncl.com/es/en/free-at-sea 🙂

Actually that $280 additional each included all the gratuities on the drinks and dining.  So for a total of less that $560  for both of us we will both get free drinks, 3 specialty dining meals, wifi, and a $50 credit per stateroom for excursions.  Since we are heading to ports that are not the most stable we will be booking excursions through NCL.  We both are moderate drinkers and enjoy cocktails and wine.

Wow! You got a great deal then. If we addded the gratuities to the higher fare, our "free" perks cost a total of $640 for the two of us.
