Junior suites

Does anyone know  what the upgrade charge is for a junior suite at McKinley chalet at Denali. We are going in May 2020. Thanks

If you are talking about the new suites at the Mckinley Chalet, we we offered an upgrade for $99/night/person before we went this year.

No, we were there for 3 nights, so the price was a little too much. We did get assigned to the "Canyon Lodge" property, a newer building, which had a cozy room with a pinewood closet and 2 nice padded chairs. We liked it a lot; it was on the south part of the property and a short walk to the new central restaurant and shop area (Denali Square).

You're welcome. Hope you enjoy your trip. We had a great time at the hotel and seeing Denali! If you get a chance, try the flightseeing to Denali peak. It's the one thing my husband keeps talking about. We went on a HAL excursion, but I think you can book it yourself, but then you do have to get there...the air strip for Denali Air is about 15-20 minutes away from the McKinley Chalet.

Again thanks so much. I think we will pass on the suite and put the money toward an excursion. Are the restaurants decent?

We only ate at Karsten's in Denali Square. It was pretty close to our room. The food is pretty good, maybe 7-8 out of ten; service was pretty good too, although sometimes it gets crowded. I've read that lots of people go to eat at the local restaurants across the street from the Main Lodge building, but we were a little too lazy to do that.

 

The shuttle bus system they have works pretty  well also, we usually only had to wait 5 min. at the most for one to come. We could've walked to the Main building, but the hill up is very steep, even though it was not too long.
