Power of the Blue Pool Towel

On our last cruise I finally realized the almighty power of the "Blue Pool Towel" as my wife and I watched one after another appear around the pool deck.  I watched as blue towel after blue towel were placed on chairs for hours on end with no bodies to hold them down.  One after another a blue towel was left for hours on end on a lounger without a care in the word...no body touched them, it was like some mystic magic...a blue towel held spots for everyone!!  Passengers and crew are afraid to touch or move them!!

So this got me thinking...I went to the pool stand and asked for about 20 blue towels.  With my towels in hand I made my way around the ship...I put 2 in the theater...2 in the Aqua Theater...2 in the Diamond Lounge...a couple in the casino...2 in Windjammer...some at the pub and a few in good parade locations on the Promenade.  Was the best day ever...all our spots were now reserved all day without a care in the world.  We showed up whenever we wanted for everything!!  Magic I tell you magic!!  The mystic power of that blue towel keeps everyone from touching it, even the staff!! We saw a few people try to get some crew members to remove the towels from the Promenade, but he knew there was nothing they could do as that towel was blue...maybe a red towel he could remove and most definitely he could remove a white towel....but not blue.

So now we have taken this blue towel into our everyday life....I place them everywhere...before a good movie comes out I goto the theater and place them on prime seats...I use them at Disney World for firework and parade locations I would love to have...I lay them on the ground at the mall in prime parking locations a couple of days before we go...  It is all magic!!! Spots saved!!  I even think I may start a business just selling blue towels...

*intended to be funny...please no flame war...no blue towels were harmed in any way

If you are in a suite you also get reserved seats at the pool. No need to use a towel. Truth be told I really didn’t see chair hogs on Anthem in June. All of the seats were occupied with only a few scattered towels. The suite seats always were empty

I think I will start picking up lonely blue towels and return them.  😄

Agree. 7-8yrs ago my kid was 12/13 and the local Mall has those stroller/carts that you can rent from automated machine. You put $6 in the machine and get $1 back when returning them. Well this is one those huge Malls with like 6 anchor stores where dozen's carts never get returned left outside or by exit doors. My daughter every Sat would go to Mall and return these abandoned carts making enough $$ to attend the Movies. Too bad can't do that with Royal Towels, but since they started the deposit thing you also dont see hundreds of ship towels left at Island Beaches

It would be awesome if there was a blue towel bounty.  Maybe that will be the theme of the next Royal Caribbean made for stateroom TV movie.

How about $5 OBC for every towel you turn in, over the number to take out. 😄

Could you imagine if they had a pool bounty?  That would also be a great idea...you could pay for your cruise in pool credits....it would make the drink package appear cheaper, so instead of calculating how many drinks you need to break even, you can calculate how many chair hog towels you need to swipe.  Or maybe we can turn the towels in for cruise points...maybe like 2500 towels to get to Diamond +

Y'all...This works. I went and put four blue towels on some theatre seats I'll be needing in April, no one's been able to sit there since and I've got a great spot for my concert!

Make sure you're using the right shade of aqua, though. I tried teal last week and boy howdy, they were gone in less than an hour. The blue towels really are magic!

Does this work in "real life" - not just vacation mode? For instance, can I put a blue towel in my chair at work so whenever I need to endure another meeting that should have been an email, I can just throw my magic blue towel down and I'll be excused? How far does this magic extend? That is worth it's weight in gold!

Just get a towel embroidered with "Diamond Plus Member- Reserved Seating" and leave it where ya want...done.

We tried that...came back and there was a line about a mile long of people just waiting for a chance to sit on it... Another line of people asking where the overflow towels were....and a small group of people going back and forth complaining that they need more Blue Towels....was a nightmare

On some ships.  Just off Liberty and suites get scanned for the pool towels.  Did not scan on Oasis and Ovation for towels.

Really

Consistently

Inconsistent

No need to even get towels from pool attendant on Oasis,  just grab them up on 17
