Cadiz > Seville suggestions & transportation options

For a 13 hour stop in Cadiz (a Tuesday from 7AM to 8PM) I thought if I could get a bus or transportation to Seville that would be a good day to DIY and tour around Seville.  Is that a good idea? Any thoughts on transportation ideas from port to Seville? Is their much to see or do near port if I have extra time? Thanks for any suggestions.

I would recommend looking into train.  RenfeTicket.  There are also organized tours through SpainDay tours that seem well priced

Train works ok depending on your port times.  Journey takes 1hour 40 mins

For train buy RT as it's cheaper. Some trains may be sold out so buying in advance not a bad idea. Also bus is an option

They arrive at Prado SS station in Sevilla which is close to major sights like Alcazar and Plaza Espana. This September bus was 20€ RT, train is 26.60€

We were able to go to Seville and see the Alcazar, Plaza Espana, the Santa Cruz area with no problem.  We did not depart until 10pm so had a couple of hours to wander around Cadiz after dinner.

We chose to rent a car, hertz is close to the port and it worked out much cheaper for our party of 7.

We just did this earlier this month.

 

We used Spanish Day Tours and they were great.

We went to Seville for the day.  They had two choices....You could take their bus r/t to Seville and tour on your own or use their guide. 

 

We used their guide and still had enough free time.  They divided the group into smaller groups of 15 or so for touring Alcazar.  

 

Fun day and great city.  No worries with Spanish Day Tours. Comfortable bus, great guides, great price.
