Drinks On Us

I'll be sailing in 12 days on a Thanksgiving cruise and was wondering about Drinks On Us.

Obviously I spent a lot , played a lot  and won a lot less..(haha) on my last cruise and I was offered a $500 obc and the Drinks On Us card.

My question is this...If I plan on putting a few dollars in a machine (let's say $2.00),order a drink and then leave the casino with my drink, would they say something? This cruise I will be with a large group of people and don't plan on spending much time in the casino during the daytime, as I will be with my family. I am sure I will make up for it at night..(love the casino) So I was wondering if it will be okay to order a drink and leave. Anyone ever done this? I would hate to get yelled at or have the privilege removed.

Oh and I wanted to mention something else. Since I have the Drinks On Us card, will I be allowed to purchase the cheers for my husband only? Since Drinks On Us and Cheers are kinda similar (15 drinks) max a day and they cannot be combined.

On my last cruise I had cheers and earned the Drinks On Us, but I reached my max drinks on Cheers and wasn't able to get another one with Drinks On Us.

I am not here for judgement so please keep negative comments to yourself.  My last cruise was with my daughter for her 21st birthday (Girls Trip, she was just 5 days shy of turning 21) and we shared Cheers.

Thanks In Advance.

If you purchase Cheers, it has to be for both of you, not just one.

You can get drinks using your DOU card as long as you are in the casino.  You can leave once you get your drink, no problem.  We do that and often go sit out on our balcony and enjoy the peace and quiet.  (Trust me, I still gamble more than my fair share... lol)

So I don't need to be actively playing, I can just go up to the bar and order?

Technically, you must be playing. Even with that the servers are far and few between when it comes to getting drinks on the DOU card. Unless tipping very well. However, since you have Cheers, why sweat over it?

That is what I was thinking, you must be playing.

I didn't say I have cheers this time around. I am debating on getting it since I have DOU

So this was something my wife and I encountered on our cruise.

She had DOU and for 5 of the 6 days,  she was able to get drinks both while playing and also at the bar (honestly,  this was the only place on the ship that we experienced slow wait times from the wait staff taking drink orders).

The last night,  when she went to the bar because none of the wait staff was coming to where she was playing,  she was told she would have to pay at the bar and she needed to be playing.  So I think it depends on whether they want to enforce or not.

Check with you offer again.  I always thought that if you were offered the DOU card in your booking, it was for both people in the same cabin.  That's the way it's been for the offers given to us.

Our Bounce Back offer states "This promotional offer is applicable for 1st/2nd guests only." It's in the fine print so you might not need Cheers for him.

Rolaur, where can I find this information?

That fine print will get you every time.  I like the one where they say Free Drinks On Us and then in tiny tiny print "After you qualify".  As you said, at least you get OBC.  That flier says reserve with a $200 deposit and they give it back as OBC  not $500.

Something is better than nothing I guess

You should be able to check the OBC you received on your booking details. I had that same Hot Streak Offer and couldn't pass up the $500 OBC. I'll still be purchasing Cheers! for that very same reason, Drinks on Us was only for me.

No, they don't care if you order while playing and then take your drink elsewhere.  I do it all time

On our last cruise I had the DOU & $500 OBC, my DW did not get the DOU card with that promotion.

However the 1st night the DW and I were playing slots together and the waiter came up and I ordered us both cocktails while paying for my DW drink.

When he delivered the drink's I tipped him a 20.  Long story short DW never payed for a drink in the casino the rest of the cruise. Filiberto was the best waiter ever.  I  never waited for a drink, DW never paid for a drink. We didn't have to be playing to get service.  I did tip him several more times,

YMMV  Heck MMMV

ps I have never had much luck using DOU at the bar, once in a while but usually no.
